"MAP Construction delivered in a pinch. We consulted MAP for a second opinion on whether to replace a part or the entire HVAC unit when we lost our air conditioning in the high heat this summer. Not only did we receive sound advice that did cost us more in the short run, the advice will save us even more in the long run. Their attention to detail, customer service and nimble pricing made us feel more like family and not just a customer. Did I mention we have two German Shepherds? They are creatures of comfort. When they are comfy, life is spectacular. Remy and Otto would also like to extend their thanks to MAP for making the inside temperature cozy again (photos included). Will always trust MAP with all our future needs, we hope you will too."

"Aireserve in Orrville is an outstanding service provider. Mike pack was the tech who performed the annual service on our Generac. He is thorough careful and explained things understandably. Their app keeps me apprised of the Generacs status. Great service provider and great people."

"A/C was not blowing cold air. Kevin came out the same day I called, quickly diagnosed the problem and made the repair. He was professional, courteous and easy to work with. In addition his fees were very reasonable for the work done. No upsell, no song and dance, just a solid guy doing great work. I highly recommend his services."

"These guys were great. Good communication beforehand, provided a solid quote and did the install exactly as I had hoped for. This was for a 100 amp circuit for a high powered charger for my Tesla electric car. Jason is great, dependable and trustworthy. They got the whole job done in a day and cleaned everything up before they left. I’ll definitely hire JAS again. Highly recommend. A+"

"Very professional. I was able to book an appointment online. Very easy. I was sent confirmation then the next morning, information was sent, letting me know who to expect. He arrived when he was scheduled for. Look at the problem and explained what was causing the furnace to overheat. Took care of it. Very satisfied."

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Columbia Station, OH

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
