"I would definitely recommend C & J Well Co. A very good friend of mine suggested that I call them. I called on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend and spoke to Josh and within minutes Logan one of the technicians called to let me know he was on his way. Unfortunately, the pump was stuck. It took quite a few attempts, days and hard work from Logan and other crew members. Finally, Brad with C & J Well called on that following Friday morning and said he was on his way and he will get the pump out. And, with the help of Rhett, they got it pulled and I had water by 3:00 p.m. that day! Thank you to all of the crew technicians for your hard work! You guys are great!"

"This group is very professional and has very prompt service. They worked fast to install a new water heater the day before I had a large group coming to the house for a weekend. They provided multiple options and helped in making the best decision regarding size and type of water heater. I was pleased with the initial install, but this group falls short on follow up service. I paid extra for a higher capacity water heater that came with a 6 year warranty on parts, and 12 months warranty on labor. At 14 months, the unit stopped working. This was a disappointment because the water heater was so new. It was also disappointing that the group wanted to charge a service fee to look at it as well as labor to repair what they had just put in about a year before. They also informed that they were unable to assist with helping me with a home warranty claim with the program they are a part of, and that I would need to pay everything out of pocket and try on my own for reimbursement later. Technically, they didn't do anything wrong, but meeting the minimum requirements isn't what I'm looking for from a service provider. Any company can install a new water heater, the good ones follow up with service and stand behind their work. I only went with this company because my usual company was unavailable at such short notice. I won't me making that mistake again."

"We recently had a leak in our crawlspace that did extensive damage to our home. Hope Plumbing not only was quick to arrive and stop the leak so we could restore water to the rest of our home but they also recommended a great restoration company to prevent further mold growth and ensure our home was clean and safe. Over the multi week project, Hope Plumbing was super accommodating as they worked alongside the restoration team, general contractors and the granite company. They also discovered an issue with our sump pump - something completely unrelated to what they had come for, but ultimately saved us from a more significant damage. We’re always quick to recommend them and they’ll always be our preferred plumber!"

"The best "consultants" in their trade.  I was looking for the best performance through state-of-art design, engineering, product selection, and installation.  They did not fail.  Timmons and "Water Engineering Excellence" belong in the same sentence.
Their recommendation of equipment were no brainers.  The value offered by their top of the line water treatment equipment exceeded what was available through competitors.  Honestly, our job went out for bid.  Timmons offered, best prices, guaranteed performance, best warrantees, and unmatched professionalism in design and installation within our mechanical room.  If we do another building project or need water conditioning expertise for any of our properties in the Indianpolis area, Timmons gets the call.  I won't even bother with competitive bids.  These guys are conscientious, honest, fairly priced, and though I haven't gotten to know them personally very well, consider them a vital partner in the success of building our new home/offices.

"We chose Allen Plumbing because it had good ratings on Angie's List.  They came out promptly as scheduled and replaced our water heater.  They took time to explain how the product works and the service was well done.  The price for the new higher efficiency water heaters are quite high, but it should save us in energy costs.  And the service technician explained that the Bradford White is the only water heater made in the US, so that is worth paying more, to me.

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in Columbus, IN

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
