These guys did an outstanding job on our backyard!!! Forever Green 2 Landscaping definitely has the heavy equipment to do any landscaping job. Professional, prompt and precise! Oscar’s crew was alway courteous and professional. Their prices were much better than the competition. We will definitely call Oscar and crew for our next outdoor project!"

"I found this company on Angie's List, and the reviews were correct. This is a great company and Matt and Chris were both really helpful when I called about not knowing how much or what kind of soil to order. We got it and quot;figgeredand quot; out, made the appointment, and the morning of delivery, Chris called to let me know they were on their way. <br /> Boy was my nephew surprised at how much 7 1/2 yards of soil amounts to! <br /> It is really excellent soil for tired lawns. I can't wait to watch it green up. <br />"

"Everything went great. The two employees dispatched to our home were prompt, polite, and wasted no time getting to work. They repaired 3 broken PVC pipe breaks, 3 sprinkler heads, and adjusted several more. Took about two hours. The foreman took me on a zone by zone tour when they had finished to make sure everything was working properly. Good job Rick."

"On day one, a large red oak(part of a V shaped tree) uprooted and fell on the lots, roof and fencing of two of my neighbors as well as my own, creating an emergency. I called Jon Chalker at Alamo City Arbor Care. He came immediately. He rescheduled other work and put two crews on the job. They did a super job and minimized damage to roof and fencing. Mr Chalker, a certified arborist, determined that the second tree(the two shared a root system) had been destabilized and needed to come down also. This tree was a monster(about 36"base) He came the second day with two crews and his crane. He had to coordinate with 4 homeowners to do the work. A metal and wooden fence had to be cut and replaced. All were happy when the work was done to include the woman in whose yard the crane was placed. The job took two days to complete. The workers were professional and courteous. Given the complexity of the job it was a miracle that nothing went wrong. I have never been more impressed with any other vendor. The work area was very dense with garden homes so acess was difficult. That the work was completed with no damage or accidents attests to the skill of his crews. Not even a sprinkler head was broken. I am convinced that these guys could handle anything."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Converse, TX

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
