"Could have been better. I guess it all comes down to 'you get what you pay for'. Contracted Forte to install pavers over existing patio, add two corner seat/benches, a step-down & additional new patio. Plus new front walk-way & paver borders along drive-way. The patios & walk-way came out great, but the seat/bench area was disappointing. I thought it was going to be constructed of all pavers, but due to budget he suggested it be built w/cylinder blocks & covered. (I thought w/the pavers) but they used a cement compound & gave it a "stucco" look & then painted it (I Hated that). I guess I should have been more explicit what I wanted, but again budget was main concern. My biggest issue was the cylinder block/stucco sides of bench kept leaching a white residue. I called them back about this. They did come & re-stuccco & paint, but it happened again. Another call & another return/repair, but when it happened on 3rd time, I just figured no matter how many times they come & re-stucco/repaint, this will keep happening. I was told by another masonry , that this is an inherent problem the cylinder blocks. The entire bench would have to re moved & re-done w/ all pavers. We figured he's want to charge us for the new benches, so we're just living w/it. Sad :("

"Women in the office are awful, Rude and incompetent. We called to cancel them for the summer and they continued to come and bill us. They refuse to acknowledge the fact I canceled and are still expecting payment. Most unprofessional experience ever"

"I made a great choice with hiring Anthony to repair the brick on my townhouse after replacing two windows and moving a door on our back extension. He was responsive and easy to schedule with. Took ownership of the job and helped solve a roof leak that my roofer wasn’t exactly on top of. He made a recommendation for capping the cornice and he was able to add this to the project easily and at a fair price. Anthony takes a lot of pride in his work and he did a lot of it himself instead of just dropping off a crew at multiple job sites. He asked me questions on how I wanted things done and was very generous with his knowledge and experience. He was very respectful and never talked down or “mainsplained”. He addressed one small issue that came up with my neighbor. I will definitely be hiring him again as my house needs exterior work."

"I highly recommend Gold coast pavers to anyone! Not only was the price unbelievable but the work and workers were incredible. I could not believe how fast they completed the job and how accessible the owner was. He popped by to make sure we were happy and that the job was going well during they 3 days it took ro complete it. We could not be happier and can't wait to use them again for our driveway, walkways and flower beds in the front of our house. Two neighbors have called and are using them too!"

"John Whigham company came when they said they would and cleaned up very well. The work, roofing for my home and garage, replacing the shingles on the front of the house plus some minor pointing work on the front porch and walkway, was done quickly. Though one of the shingles fell off about a month later (the shingles on the front dormer) they came quickly and reinstalled it properly. So, why the poor review? 5 years after the job was done I had a leak in my kitchen. I've had 5 professional roof installers come and all of them stated that the work done around the rear dormer was improper. They all independently stated that the flashing was done improperly, that is, the step flashing was never changed and there was no ice flashing installed and this resulted in a leak. Worse, the labor guarantee was for ONLY ONE YEAR which is the abysmal when compared to the industry standard of 5 to 10 years. He refused to fix the problem and so now the entire rear roof has to be removed and redone. Additionally, though I should have done more homework at the time to compare prices, he overcharged based on my subsequent researching, by almost $7,000 and this was confirmed by other roofers who were subsequently asked for an estimate. He is always trying to upsell, a minor criticism, but it can be very annoying as I get the feeling that he's more interested in making a buck than doing the work. Based on his warranty alone I never should have contracted with John Whigham and I don't think anyone should."

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Coram, NY

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
