"Joe is excellent! I recently bought my first home and renovated the entire house. I initially hired Joe to install a light in my bedroom, which quickly escalated to him installing recessed lighting throughout my entire 3-level house. He also installed light fixtures and LED lights around my kitchen cabinets. Joe made this experience fun and exciting. His expertise is impressive and his humble and pleasant demeanor is unmatched. I am extremely happy with his work and will recommend him to everyone!"

Electrical panel and wiring project work., lighting repairs, outdoor lighting
"I hired Empire Electrical for my kitchen renovation (under & above cabinet lighting, island toe-kick lights, hanging pendants, recessed hi-hats), as well as my dining room chandelier, bedroom fans, and smart switches that I can control from my phone. The workers were prompt, professional, did an excellent, beautiful job with everything, and did not leave a mess when they were done. The owner Michael was also very helpful with suggesting the type of lights & dimmers I should use. I would definitely use these guys again!!!"

"Ross was great as were the rest of his crew. I think I met almost all of them. The project included two new Leviton smart load panels and a new meter box as well as new underground service line which required working with PSEG. It was all taken care of professionally and efficiently on time and at a reasonable cost. The work was done in two stages as per my preference and budget over about 5 months. I had them come back for additional work unrelated to load panels installing outlets by 8 skylights and a new fan box. All done professionally. Will definitely use again. Low friction, cost effective, timely and high quality."

"Randy is an amazing electrician and handyman. He is very responsive, professional, detail oriented, hard working and provides very reasonable pricing. He has helped us with many different projects in our house from installing new outlets, door bell, electric car charger, water filtration system to putting furniture together, installing light fixtures and hanging TVs and artwork. He really can do it all. He is also very trustworthy. I highly recommend him for any of your electrical or home needs."

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:
For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
