Small jobs welcome

"Great company to work with! The service was great from the beginning of the process to completion. It was easy to work with their scheduling of the project and their electronic payment system. I had lots of concerns about having the asbestos tiles removed from my basement and I had lots of questions. Harrison took the time to explain how the project would be handled, he was very patient with me in answering all my concerns so that I felt confidence in hiring EnviroGo. The crew doing the work showed up at the time they said they would and the technicians and supervisor were very personable and professional in explaining how they would prep the area to do the containment. I was happy with the respect they showed to my property and the finished work. I received the Air monitoring test results about 24 hours after the work was completed and all was good. I would hire EnviroGo again if I had another project that needed this type of work."

"Came out and made the assessment and took a sample for testing. Within a day he was able to let me know it was positive for asbestos and offered removal at a reasonable price. They came on the planned date and did incredible work. Walked me around to ensure it was completed to my satisfaction. "

"It went very well. Showed up on time, very professional, yet personable. Was very thorough, performed multiple tests at various levels throughout the house. External lab results were returned within a day, and simply confirmed what she had already stated. Gave multiple suggestions / options for fixing the problem, ranging from 3rd party services to a detailed DIY solution plan."

"I wanted an inspection of a condo that was built in the 1980s. Milind Angolkar performed the inspection. He tested the plumbing, electric load, etc. and looked for structural issues in the unit itself. I was very satisfied with the inspection. He identified a few minor issues which will be addressed by the seller and also improvements that could be made by me after the purchase. I received a detailed report with photos. Note: the standard price is reduced for condos."

"I only joined Angie's List so I could share with other people what a positive experience this was. I had previously hired another person to do mold testing in my basement, but was doubtful about the report, especially when the OTHER report recommended clearly unnecessary remediation by their friends and partners. Tom was thorough, spending 5x the amount of time the previous inspector did and he clearly detailed a simple action plan. He is obviously an expert in his field, and offered low-cost alternatives that are superior to popular, high-buck products. He supported his approach with science and research, which was comforting to me. Save yourself some headache and call this guy FIRST."

"Very affordable and thorough test results. I really appreciated that the Moldlab not only provided us with what kind of mold they found but what the affects are on people/pets and then how to get rid of the mold! Our kit was mailed on the same day we ordered it and Charlie was quick?to resend my email results when I accidentally deleted them in my spam folder.?"

"Our basement flooded after a sump pump failure while we were on vacation. Shaylee came in to test for mold and discovered it was positive. ServPro came in and cleaned up, as well as did mold remediation. Shaylee came back afterwards to verify the mold had indeed been eradicated. She was prompt, professional and very knowledgeable. She explained things in a way that I could understand despite not knowing anything about the testing and mold cleanup process. I highly recommend this company."

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Cottage Grove, MN

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
