"Easy to work with, fast and reliable. When we need emergency asbestos testing they make room in their schedule to fit us in. Explain/answers my questions on things I may not understand when it comes to asbestos. Great crew I will continue working with them in the future."

"Very professional. Talked with Todd the owner. He was very knowledgeable and hesitant to give me an estimate to remove the flooring if tested positive. I pushed the issue and sent him photos and dimensions of the room. He came back with an estimate. The price he gave me for testing and removal wasn’t in my budget. I hired another Pro for testing. The test came back negative for any traces of asbestos. "

"Great company to work with! The service was great from the beginning of the process to completion. It was easy to work with their scheduling of the project and their electronic payment system. I had lots of concerns about having the asbestos tiles removed from my basement and I had lots of questions. Harrison took the time to explain how the project would be handled, he was very patient with me in answering all my concerns so that I felt confidence in hiring EnviroGo. The crew doing the work showed up at the time they said they would and the technicians and supervisor were very personable and professional in explaining how they would prep the area to do the containment. I was happy with the respect they showed to my property and the finished work. I received the Air monitoring test results about 24 hours after the work was completed and all was good. I would hire EnviroGo again if I had another project that needed this type of work."

"DJK Environmental did a great job removing asbestos floor tiles and mastic in my basement. All the work was done as promised and everyone I talked to at the company was professional and courteous. The price was reasonable and they even came out on a Sunday to complete the work. I had a tight deadline and they were booked out a few weeks - but they found time to meet my deadline. Highly recommend!"

"I wouldn't recommend them. He told me what he was going to use. We had mold in our attic and I had the whole roof removed. I did a lot of research on how to get rid of the mold to make sure it didn't come back on the woodwork that was up there. When he came, he said he didn't get that so he would get some other stuff. The guy did the estimate and said he was not going to use that. I'm just worried about it because after all he said he would use these stuff and then he didn't. I had insulation put up there so I don't want mold on our woodwork. I don't want to go up there and look because I would be so upset. I spent $12,000 getting that attic and he didn't use what he said he would. The price was not the cheapest on my list, but I was happy that he was going to do all these things like hand and wash off the woodwork up there with the stuff. He sure didn't tell me the truth. For his punctuality, he did come on time. When they smoked, they went outside and their butts were all over my porch. I would not use them again."

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Milwaukee, WI

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
