"I am very happy that I had All Clean Environmental Services to fulfill my project. They are extremely reliable in all aspects, price is reasonable. The terrific asbestos removal job was done, my place is left been very clean. The most important for me was a direct and clear communication with Kevin from the first phone conversation, during the project and after it was finished. He is a very knowledgeable specialist and the nicest person. Kevin went above and beyond making me been comfortable and absolutely worry free. Would like also mention that I appreciate how detailed were Kevin and Sorany with all documentation I was getting from them via emails. Thank you so much, Kevin and Sorany! "Overall, we had a positive experience with this company. Neal responded to my requests for a quote right away. He found a time that worked for my husband and myself - very accommodating. He took samples of the materials in our home that we thought might be asbestos containing and sent them off for testing. His quote and timeframe were better than the other companies that quoted us. Once we set up a time/date, they were very responsive and punctual. The crew that came out to do the work was professional and explained what they were going to do. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work and friendliness of the employees. <br />"

"We had been away and returned to find an alarming, musty smell in the house.  After several days we were able to narrow the source to a basement stairwell and, though we could not see any problem, we suspected mold.  We hired Jeff May because he inspects and diagnoses but does not do remediation in the case of mold.  We had been warned to separate the two procedures, for obvious reasons.  We were also impressed by his prior reviews and his professional background. (He is a chemist.)  He was able to come within a few days.  He was prompt, professional and knows what he is doing.  He also arrives with a variety of instruments that not all contractors may own or use.  Within a short time, with the help of his moisture meter and infrared camera, he was able to determine a pattern of very wet bricks extending in a line to the ceiling of the stairwell and down into the basement.  With this information we were able to measure from the front wall of the house and transfer information to the interior of our neighbor's house, which coincided exactly with a principal drain line running from the upper floors.  They opened the wall and found water.  Their plaster walls had shielded them from the odor.  They eventually found the source of the leak and, after several weeks, our wall dried and the odor disappeared. <br /> With Jeff's lights we were able to see accretions on our bricks which we worried might be mold.  Though he suspected not, he took multiple samples for testing, which turned out to be other chemical reactions to the dampness but did not include mold. <br /> Although the inspection took quite a bit longer than Jeff had anticipated, he stayed until he was able to follow through on his findings.  We had the results of the mold tests within 48 hours. <br /> We are very glad that we hired Jeff May.  We would call him immediately if we ever had a similar problem and recommend him without hesitation. <br />"

"We were in the middle of a renovation and our contractor realized that he had to move a pipe which had asbestos encapsulating agents on it.  Our reno. was at a standstill until the asbestos could be removed and disposed.  The problem pipe ran heat up to our daughter's room, so it was an immediate need.  We called up Joe and he was at out house within one hour going over the options, price and process.  He helped us schedule the project right away and walked us through how to prepare. <br /> His team came in exactly when they said they were going to, completed the job on time and cleaned up the area amazingly.  They made the area look like it was freshly painted and redone.   <br /> Every company should operate like ESI! <br />"

"<p>I selected Dudley Services from other estimates because of the time and care that "Sam" put into </p> <p>the walk through of the area with me. He educated me about the process, and we were able to talk through</p> <p>work that needed to be done. He noticed asbestos in areas that other companies did not mention. He was professional and responsive.</p> <p>Since the project involved asbestos, I was not able to see the removal in process. The area was sealed. I greeted the workers,.</p> <p> and opened the bulkhead. A few hours later, the doorbell rang, and an inspector told me that the company had done a great job, and that the follow-up testing of the air was pretty much perfect. I hadn't even known that the work was finished, or that the inspector had arrived. I had assumed that the work would have taken longer.</p> <p>The entire experience was a very positive one, and I would highly recommend them.</p> <br />"

"Very well. Mr. Hall spent 1-1/2 hours using professional equipment to sample air quality, detect mold, and to make thermal scans to detect quality of insulation in walls and ceilings. His resulting report was thorough and prompt. Included in the report were lab results, photos of problem areas, and heat-sensitive photos of areas where insulation is either weak or completely lacking. He also detected mold in our garage. That mold has penetrated our interior air heating and cooling system. We would recommend Mr. Hall without reservation to anyone seeking help and advice with respect to a suspected air quality problem."

"Unfortunately, we found that the lower level of our house was covered in asbestos tile and both the bathrooms and kitchen had sheet linoleum flooring containing asbestos. Soriano was professional and extremely accommodating throughout the entire process. They answered all of our questions and shared all the test results with us. We received all the appropriate ceritifications as well. During the entire process, there were no surprises. I will definitely do business with them again in the future. Thanks!"

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Boston, MA

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
