"Karol did a fantastic job and went an extra mile to help me with the housing project. He went above and beyond to ensure my demand is met and the result was flawless. I would hire him again for other housing-related projects and can confidently recommend him to many of my friends and colleagues that are house owners in the area."

"They did a really good job. The first installer did not install the door properly and the latch did not line up so it wouldn't lock. We contacted them and another installer came out and did a super job. He basically had to redo it. He did and it came out great. They do a good job and if something isn't quite right to begin with they are responsible. They get it done correctly and professionally. I would say they are a reliable company."

"Bill and the rest of the Fine Point team were incredible.
They sanded and repainted a large kitchen with stained oak cabinets. Since the oak didn't take the paint like other woods, they applied an extra coat of primer and and extra finishing coat to make sure that it looked the way we hoped. They used a spray, which helped give the cabinets a professional, uniform coat. They look fantastic.
When the paint dried, some of the cabinets didn't close properly. This is not a criticism?when we told Bill, he came by the next day to fix those that were misaligned (which could have happened in any project), so the final kitchen looked perfect.
The whole team was really friendly. They put in extra hours to make sure the job was done well, and honored their initial estimate, which was completely reasonably compared to some estimates we received.
They touched up several areas of the house. When we couldn't find a matching paint for the upstairs bathroom, Bill repainted the entire wall with another paint, and he did it for a nominal fee.
What can I say? The team was patient with us as clients, thorough with the job, and masters of the craft. Our house looks fantastic, and I'd hire them or recommend them in a heartbeat.

"Within days of purchasing the deal, I received the instructions and paper to draw my table templates. The table has 2 drop leaves plus 2 additional leaves that can be inserted in the table. The templates were pretty easy to draw. The finished pads were delivered in a very short time. They fit the table and each of the 4 leaves perfectly and magnetically lock together to keep them aligned when on the table. A year and a half later, I still love these pads."

"In addition to replacing all our windows in the house, we were starting a kitchen and masterbath remodel.  The timing of the window install was crucial to coordinate with the remodel.  We also wanted year end pricing, which was a substantial savings.  We interviewed two companies and chose SGK. We would have interviewed a third company to be thorough, but it was impossible to find another company that did new construction installation that fit our time line.  Rob Rowe (our salesperson) is an up front and "real" person.  Did not come across as a salesman or try to up sell us like the other company's representative.  The price was $8000 less than the other company for comparable windows (Anlin windows) and same type of installation.

Our goal was to have all the windows installed before our remodel started, but the installation date was delayed due to the rain.  We were in contact with Deanne (not sure her actual title) at SGK many times to coordinate the installation and she spoke with our contractor to make sure the kitchen window was installed at the right time.  In fact, SGK installed the kitchen and bath windows earlier than the other windows to coordinate with the demo.

This was the only real hiccup we had with the installation.  When the bathroom windows were installed, the edge of the window and sills were cut back too far due to something with the flange (sp?) nails.  This left a large gap between the window and the wood window sill.  A couple of the gaps were filled with caulking and another left with the large gap.  After discussion that this was not acceptable, a total of 3 window sills had to be replaced.  They now look good.  My take on this incident is that there was a lack of communication of why there were gaps when the windows were cut and it was not adequately communicated to us that the sills would be replaced at a later date (when the other windows were installed).  There Quality Control person (Edward) was called in right away and he came by the house multiple times  to ensure the installation was all done to our satisfaction.  The foreman on the job was Francisco.  Another worker named Manny was also very instrumental in making sure I was happy with the outcome.

I was assured that this would not happen moving forward and all the remaining windows were installed without incident. We are having to do some minor paint touch up around most of the windows since caulking is used around the drywall and sills. The windows are beautiful (as much as vinyl can be) and the wood trim that was all replaced looks great.  It is primed and we still need to have it painted.  The old windows had condensation and were drafty.  The new windows have no draft and the house is noticeably warmer.  All our neighbors are commenting on our new windows.

"Bought an Angies List deal for handyman service.  Below are the cliffs notes on my interaction.  I felt this was a huge waste of my time, so it warranted a review.  Apparently painting and extending a step don't fall under "Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, installations & general chores."  Still, they get a net positive for letting me know up front.
Anatomy of my interaction with this provider:
Me:
Could you give me a time estimate on:
1.  installing faucet
2.  Extending a step down step
3.  Realigning a door
4.  Baby-proofing 10 drawers
Provider
1. Is step concrete or wood? This is hard to determine time without seeing.
2. Babyproof, 1.5 hr
3. Realign doorframe, 2 hr. Does not include any painting.
4. Kitchen faucet, 2 hr
Me:
Step is wood (attach picture)
What's an estimate to paint two car garage
Provider
The floor work and painting are not work I want
Me:
The step is actual the main reason for purchasing the Angie's lists. Do you have a list of services you do want?
Provider:
I suggest you contact Angie's and request a refund on the coupons you purchased.

"Although it took nearly a month for the company to install my fence, Cuevas crew arrived right on time on the appointed date.  They conducted themselves in a professional manner (minimizing damage to my property during removal and great clean up job after installation),  I highly recommend Cuevas for any fence installation. Their prices are fair and reasonable.  Thank you Cuevas Lumber & Fence for minimizing my stress level!!  My neighbors thank you as well for the aesthetic look of the final product.

"I used the big deal.  I have a weird type of fence that when you put it up it looks really nice but as the wood dries out the boards get loose.  He went in and put self tapping nails so that the boards would not start flipping around.  He actually worked on two fences.  On the older fence he had to pile a drill but in the newer fence he didn't.  So know I don't have to worry about these fences coming loose because I have dogs and I don't want my dogs getting out.  He did several different things and he did very well."

FAQs for interior trim and decorative moldings installation projects in Coyote, CA

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
