"Patrick, the owner made the service call to my house in about 1/2 hour. I was alone, babysitting for my two grandchildren and very worried. I explained my problem, he told me what to look for (a water shut off valve) and asked if I could turn the water off. I told him I would try. I was frantic because with the babies, then not finding any shut off valve, water coming up from the floor, and clearing way for what I thought would be a wall tear down - Patrick and his "manager" (?) arrived. (Mind you, my family also came to help, but did not locate the shut off valve). The water pipe happened to run under my bedroom floor! Needless to say, WITHIN MINUTES the rushing water stopped. I still have water for daily household use as the problem was a broken pipe to the exterior spigot.  Patrick was soaked, yet took the time to explain to me why exactly this had happened. He encouraged me to wait until the Spring when the weather is warmer to make any changes and repairs. Patrick is professional, knowledgeable, and quite a gentleman, (despite being waterlogged) and I felt that he gave me all options for this future repair.

"I would highly recommend TDH mechanical to anybody. Their price was exceptional and their work was spectacular. I got bids from almost 10 contractors for a new boiler and hot water heater system for my house. TDH was the cheapest in the lot but that was not necessarily a good thing in my mind. The last boiler had been in place for a decade longer than I have been alive and I wanted to do the right thing with a trustworthy company with a system that would last. TDH discussed different options with me for weeks as I was indecisive and was extremely helpful at evaluating different systems. I finally chose a system and went for it. The village inspectors were even more impressed with the installation than I was which is an excellent sign. Neither the plumbing nor HVAC inspector had a single negative comment about the installation. I highly recommend TDH and will definitely use them again for my future HVAC needs."

"We actually had called Emanuel Brothers first since their name was on the water heater. But, after the amount of time and money they quoted us I decided to check Angie's. We had John come out and take a look and he told us he could do the same work for almost $800.00 less! I can't say I didn't have some trepidation. First, just how is it possible to do so much less work than we were told would be necessary (we had 2 water heaters. Neither of which worked after nearly 20 years, that had to be removed first to make room). And, for so much less. Emanuel Brothers were so perplexed by our situation that they had to call the boss to come out and explain everything to us. But, John had this "no problem" kinda attitude. "Water heater is 7 years old (nearing end of life).  Pilot light went out on Wednesday evening and we couldn't get it lit.  We called them and they would have come out late that night, but we said no, come out on Thursday.  They called Thursday morning at 9am and said they would be leaving their garage in 10 minutes, so they made it to our place by 9:30am.  Two guys came and put on booties before entering.  (I wish Comcast repairmen would do that!)  They got the pilot lit immediately, but after finding out how old the heater was plus our problems the previous night lighting it, they said the pilot might go out again very soon.  We also had that feeling.  So they wrote up 4 possibilities with their prices for us (as we had discussed going to a tankless system).  One of the options was replacing the thermocoupler for $427.  One was installing a new pilot assembly for $499.  One was installing a tankless water heater for $6000, and the last one was to install a 40 gal. water heater for $1,620.  We chose the pilot assembly, and after using the 10% off coupon that J. Blanton has on their Angie's site, the cost to us was $448.96.  We don't know if this is a good price or not, which is the reason we didn't grade the price.  The work was performed quickly and professionally.
