"I had 25 LG solar panels installed by Sunpro this year and they did a fantastic job. The communication was great and the install crew was very professional. It's been awesome watching our electric bill go down!"

"I evaluated 5 bids for my rooftop PV installation: 4 local firms and one regional firm (NRG). I was very glad to have chosen NRG. Their bid was the cheapest by a significant margin. The site survey, design and installation process was quick and smooth, despite the tribulations of the ongoing COVID-19 threat. Production from the system is exceeding specification, and my first monthly electric bill was -$15."

"Comment: They helped by replacing my roof as well as installing gutters, fixing broken windows, repairing carpentry, and painting. They also helped me process my insurance claims. They're very knowledgeable; they made sure my insurance company compensated me for all the current Dallas city building codes. Jess is a very good communicator and made sure the crews cleaned up very well."

"Great! Jeff arrived early for the tenant-requested 8 AM appointment even though he had what must have been an hour's drive to get there. He went about his business professionally and (importantly) honestly, checking for signs of mold. He concluded that there was not a mold problem, and gave the tenant and me the details of how he came to his conclusion. He was thoroughly knowledgeable of his vocation. There was no charge for the housecall. To show my appreciation for all that he did, I tried to pay for his breakfast. While he appreciated my gesture, he graciously declined."

"Work was started on date and time agreed between contractor and us. The work areas were kept clean the entire time the contractors were working on the project. Large pieces of cardboard, plastic and paper were immediately placed in  large plastic bags and loaded in trailer immediately. As stated before no bottles, cans or any food waste was left for us to pick up. The contractors were careful when working inside the house,  We wanted to move our own furniture and did so in advance.  l will say again that all trash generated by the contractor while working inside the house was cleaned up. The entire installation time was 21/2 days.

as per his estimate. The half day was primary to make sure we were satisfied with the installation of the windows, caulking,  replacement of rotten wood and the painting of the frames. We were very satisfied with the entire installation and the professional manner that was displayed by Michael and his crew.

The new windows make a big difference, The three hot weeks following the installation of the new windows was noted on first much lower utility bill. Also you can move across the entire  back wall of the den where  new large windows were installed and no heat radiation can be felt. The new windows, caulking replacement of rotten wood and painting make a big difference in the overall appearance of the property.

NOTE. I am not a window expert but I will say that l did research and sat down and talked to  three different contractors before starting this project. All of the contractors we talked to were very professional. Price might have something to do with us selecting this contractor. I want to emphasis that before you start a project you should get a written agreement on EVERYTHING. to include how the project will be paid for, how clean up is to be handled, wearing of booties inside the house and anything else you can think of.

My wife is not easy to work for and she asks many questions, even though they were very busy Michael and his crew were always very polite and took time to respond to her questions.

"They did a very good job. They came and covered the roof while we were waiting for insurance company paperwork. They did a good job, although there was one area that leaked- they came immediately and fixed it and a year later when there was another problem with that area ( 10 inches of rain in one day), they again came immediately and fixed it"

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Crawford, TX

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
