"I initially contacted Patrick in August 2012 when I was unable to boot the computer I use for business. This was a HP All-in-one PC that I purchased in 2007 and had replaced the hard drive once within the warranty period. I initially contacted several providers who are closer to where I live (from Angie's list), but never got return calls. I then called Patrick. He answered the phone, and we discussed the problem. I attempted several repairs on my own which temporarily made the computer workable, but ultimately decided to take the PC in when nothing remained stable for more than a day or two.
Patrick offers home service, but after discussing what would be involved, we determined it would be better for me to bring the computer to his office, which I did. The only small glitch is that he told me he didn't need anything but the computer, so I didn't bring the power cord, software disks, etc. It turned out this HP uses a special kind of power cord, so I had to make an extra trip to bring that cord in. However, Patrick used that time to determine that the hard drive was defective and needed to be replaced, so I also brought the DVDs with the OS for use when the new hard drive arrived.
Because of budget concerns at the time, I elected to replace the hard drive rather than the entire computer (was hoping to wait till after the first of the year for that). Because of the age of the computer, the set up of the new hard drive required multiple steps to reinstall Windows Vista, then upgrade to Windows 7. Patrick (or Jason who works with him) did all that and had the computer ready for me to pick up by late the next day (amazing turnaround).
The computer seemed to be working fine for a while, although I had a few problems which I attributed to Windows. Then I got a Trojan on it (my own inattention and failure of the anti-virus software I was using). After that, even though I thought I had fixed the computer, it continued to have problems and became unable to boot after about two months.
I spent about a day trying to fix it myself but then called Patrick again when nothing I did worked. He was available right away, and I took the computer in. He and Jason were in regular communication with me about status, and they anticipated the computer would be ready for me the next day.
Sadly, when they came in the next day they encountered the same problems I did where the PC wasn't working. At that point they determined that the hard drive was not working properly and had probably been damaged because of other problems in the computer. The all-in-one design compacts the parts so tightly that they overheat, and other components had damaged the new hard drive. Unfortunately, the 30-day warranty period was past on that hard drive, but even if it hadn't been, replacing it again was not an option given the age and condition of the computer.
Patrick was able to get a new computer for me; we discussed my needs for my business, and he recommended a Lenovo, which is the brand I was planning to get after doing some research on my own. Since I had already been looking into PCs, I knew that the price he was able to get was better than anything I could do on my own, so we went ahead and placed the order. The PC came in the next day, and Jason came and delivered it and set it up in my home office. Patrick & Jason also recommended a good combination of security and anti-virus software that is better than what I had been using (and less expensive).
I had brought some software DVDs with the old computer (MS Office in particular) that I needed to install on the new computer, and they hadn't brought those with the new PC. But we coordinated meeting near my house the next day when Jason and Patrick were on their way to another service call so I could pick up the disks.
The new computer is working like a charm, and many of the problems I used to blame on Windows I now realize were hard drive issues (or some combination of the type of computer - HP - and the upgraded version of Windows). I'm highly pleased with the knowledge, service, professionalism and responsiveness of Patrick & Jason. I would definitely call them again for computer needs.

"I was told to call All American Solutions. I did and was connected Mr. Bob Feltman. He is a wonderful, brilliant, and smart man. He was patient with me as he walked me through the steps I needed to do. Because of surgery I just had my mouth area was numb and swollen making it hard for me to speak correctly. Bob was such a love. For 2 1/2 days he diligently worked cleaning up, removing all of the ware's, and trash out of my computer. Then everything had to be reinstalled. "I purchased the service and was contacted by Jason very quickly and we scheduled a time for him to take over my computer. I had a few questions before hand and Jason responded to those quickly as well. He sent me a couple of text messages before our scheduled time and emailed me the instructions on how to let him take over. I was able to watch him manipulate my computer the whole time. He spent about 2 hours cleaning up extra "junk" that was on my computer, eliminating numerous viruses my computer had contracted and he installed free anti-virus programs for me. When he was finished, he asked that I take some time browsing the web while he watched to be sure that I was not experiencing any of the same problems. After that he called and went over everything he did, gave me some great suggestions and showed me the details of the anti-virus programs he installed. I found him to be very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I'd definitely use his services again, but hope I don't have to!"

"My second appointment with Geek Choice in March went well. The phone call from the office to determine what I wanted to accomplish at the visit is a great idea. I would say that here is where Geek Choice can look for complications. For example, someone who's used a computer at work and at home may still be unaware of some basic ideas. For example, if a device is to be added, does it need to be charged, does the person have the correct cable or battery, etc. Young people know this; older people do not necessarily.
The representative was courteous, knowledgeable, patient, and offered additional tips. He arrived within the time frame specified.
