"They showed up to do the remodel around 9am placed mats from the front door to the bathroom, to keep our floors clean. There were 4 very friendly men who did the work. They were professional, explained what they were going to do so there would be no surprises. 8 hours later they were finished. They cleaned everything up afterwards leaving no mess for us to clean. The work looks great and we are very happy with how it turned out."

"Joe and his team completed the project well. They were professional and punctual, and the area stayed tidy while they were working. He worked hard to solve an unexpected delay due to a delivery issue! We would recommend 1st in Home Improvement for your home needs."

"Mad City had to come out 5 times. They didn't get the right base size for a new shower. We had to without a shower for almost 3 months. When they finally completed the job, it was great. It simply took them too long to get it done right."

Customers say: Quick response

"My husband and I have used Artistic Home Improvements since we purchased our house in 2019. There is no one we trust more with our home projects than Dwayne Stanfill. Our house is almost 100 years old and it has a lot of quirks. Dwayne has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to working on old homes. He understands and respects their uniqueness. Whenever a problem arises during our projects, Dwayne either has experience on how to address it or he spends his free time researching different solutions. He will often say, â I was lying awake thinking of this.â He truly cares about his work and is passionate about doing things the right way. He wants to be proud of the work he leaves behind. He will never do a job hastily just to jump to the next project. Dwayne has also been respectful of our family routines/schedules. He always tidied up at the end of each day and positioned materials out of reach from our toddler and two cats. Dwayne is also respectful of your budget and does his best to keep things on track financially. Dwayne has made so many of our visions a reality. He is a crucial part to our homeâ s history. Dwayneâ s creative and artistic abilities, his passion for his work, his desire to do whatâ s right and his attention to detail make him stand far above other companies. Contractors like him are far and few in between. My husband and I always feel so blessed to have found Dwayne. We highly recommend Artistic Home Improvements for your home projects."

"removing tub and tile did damage to ceiling - they did not repair it. Salesman suggest an oversized soap tray which would not fit anywhere. Their product is WAY over priced. I would not recommend this company."

FAQs for bathroom remodel projects in Dayton, OH

You can buy a replacement vanity by selecting a pre-made unit with an integrated sink from a local home improvement supplier. Pre-made vanities are designed for easy installation and compatibility with your existing plumbing. If a ready-made option doesn't meet your needs, consider hiring a custom builder to create a vanity that fits your space and style.

You can purchase a bathroom vanity from major home improvement retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s or online stores like Wayfair, which offer a variety of pre-made vanities. Visiting local showrooms and bathroom supply stores can also provide professional advice and help you choose the right vanity for your space.

Installing your bathroom vanity flush against the wall enhances stability and prevents shifting. This placement also eliminates hard-to-clean gaps and keeps your vanity securely in place. Building codes often require a minimum clearance of four inches from bathtubs and at least 21 inches of free space in front of the sink for accessibility and safety.

You can upgrade a single vanity to a double vanity by installing additional cabinets, a second sink, and matching fixtures. This process requires additional plumbing adjustments, countertop modifications, and careful alignment to ensure both sinks function correctly. Upgrading to a double vanity enhances bathroom functionality and offers more space, which is especially beneficial for shared bathrooms.

The best vanity top material depends on your budget, style preferences, and maintenance willingness. Materials like quartz or solid surfaces are excellent choices for durability and low maintenance. If you're on a tighter budget, laminate is affordable but less durable. Consider how much traffic your bathroom gets and choose a material that balances cost, appearance, and upkeep.

Installing a bathroom vanity takes between three and six hours. Simple installations may be completed in under three hours, while more complex projects requiring adjustments or plumbing modifications can take up to six hours or more. The installation process includes assembling cabinets, placing the countertop, installing the sink if necessary, and connecting plumbing.
