"After receiving 3 different proposals for raising foundation, I hired a structural engineer to evaluate foundation elevations. Pinnacle (Robby Brown) was more consistent with readings and recommendations for problem areas. Miguel was person assigned to coordinate actual raising of the foundation and I was impressed with his knowledge. The crew also exceeded my expectations regarding minimizing landscape damage and returning areas to original conditions and overall cleanup."

"We hired a structural engineer to inspect our foundation because a crack appeared on the kitchen floor. He concluded that the installation of 9 steel pilings was needed and recommended a couple of contractors, including Accurate Foundation Repair. I contacted AGR through Angie's List and they called back the next day to schedule an appointment at my home. After a walk through with the sales rep, I received a thorough explanation of the job and a fair cost estimate so we hired them for the job. Their crew was showed up as scheduled and was very polite. They waited for the engineer that I hired separately before lifting the house. The cracks closed after the house was lifted. A couple of weeks later, they sent a plumber to conduct a leak test. All went great."

"Very honest.  Actually recommended not doing anything and starting water plan.  Recommended a leveling versus an actual foundation repair.  Impressed by honesty.

"We contacted Olshan and they sent an estimator out to access the foundation damage. We had several different companies come out to do an estimate. Olshan was the most expensive, but we were most impressed and comfortable with them. We decided to go ahead with the foundation repair and they worked with us to get a crew out as soon as they could, which was about 30 days. But during a couple weeks into the 30 days, they called and told us a crew had come available if we wanted to get the work done sooner. We were happy to go ahead and get this behind us.
They crew showed up on a Monday morning as promised and reviewed the job specs with us. After his assessment of the work to be done, the crew chief told us, we needed an additional pier inside the house. He also told us that the way the specs were drawn, he felt confident that he could move one of the speced perimeter piers to the inside with no degradation of the quality, and minimal impact to the price. It made sense to us.
The week of the repairs, there was rain scheduled for the middle of the week. We talked with the crew chief about alternate plans if the rain actually came. It rained on Wednesday, and they had to delay completion of the work by one day. So the original 3 day estimate turned out to be 4 days. After they finished installing the piers, the cleaned up, and re planted our shrubs. During the whole process, the workers were very professional and respectful of our home. Bottom line, is that we were very pleased with the work, the crew and the overall experience. We have already recommended Olshan to others.
There are a couple of things that they could have done better. First, they should have told us that more than likely, none of our shrubs would survive the ordeal. Yes, they did inform us that all the shurbs may not survive. Actually, none of them did. I just think they should prepare the client for worst case scenario. Second thing is that they should have told us that since we were havingsome interior piers done, and one of them was in the bedroom, we should plan to vacate the house during the work. Which is what we ended up doing. Once they started to jack hammer the slab inside the house, it quickly became apparent that there was going to be far too much dust and dirt for us to sleep in the house. They did tell us that they would cover everything with plastic which the crew did a really good job of doing. But again, I believe the client should be prepared for worst case scenario, so it would have been nice if we had been told that we may want to consider vacating the house during the work.
However, as I said before, overall were are very pleased with the work and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. They were the most expensive, but you know the old saying.....You get what you pay for. We figured that the foundation of our home was not something we wanted to make a mistake on. We are very happy with our decision. I believe we got what we paid for.

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in Denton, TX

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
