"Very prompt, professional, and personable. Jim explained everything clearly, and answered my questions courteously and thoroughly. He called as soon as the results were available and I received the written report exactly at the time he had said it would arrive. I would highly recommend Colorado Asbestos Inspections to anyone needing such services."

"Brian showed up when he said he would, followed us down to the basement of our 1927 rental duplex, and was able to assure us we would not be exposing our new tenants to asbestos. Brian explained the reason the basement floor tiles were not an asbestos concern and educated us on asbestos in general. We were very relieved to learn that the floor tiles would not be a concern to the health of our new tenants. When I asked Brian how much we owed him for taking the time out of his day to inspect the floor, he said and quot;nothing.and quot; We were dumbfounded that he made a trip to just end up assuring us we were safe. If we ever DO have an environmental issue, Brian is the person we will call for help."

"This was the 3rd time I’ve used Axium (specifically Tim Krapfl) for home inspection. Tim is very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional! I highly recommend. Tim did the home inspection, but the services also included sewer scope and radon testing."

"It was frustrating. I bought the service because of an Angie's List promotion. When I received the package I opened it and saw what it was and set it aside. I was very busy and planned to get to it in a few days. I had to go out of town for a few days, then I had a ridiculous string of bad luck with multiple car breakdowns. I have a neuromuscular disease so everything I do is very difficult and exhausting. With so much happening, I forgot about the test kit. Then after a couple weeks I get a call from Mold Lab asking about the kit saying it was past the due back date and they were going to charge me $25 a day late fee on the pump. I was stunned! I opened the box and there was nothing inside saying it was due by a certain time. I re-read the Angie's List ad and there was nothing there either. The lady was very rude and kept interrupting me saying the same things over and over like maybe I would finally understand if she kept repeating it. I understood the first time. She wouldn't listen to understand I didn't know about the deadline but now that I was made aware of it I would do the testing that day and ship it that day. What else could I do? That wasn't good enough she had to repeat her lecture a few more times. After sending it in I was told I would receive a text when it was complete and I would receive an email with results within a few days. After a month I called and the same lady answered. She claimed to have sent an email, but didn't know the date and told me to check my junk mail folder. I checked everywhere but had no record of it. I explained I hadn't received the text either, she had no response for that. So she sent an email while we were on the phone and I received it immediately. I printed out the results but without the proper training or experience in laboratory sciences it was basically useless."

"The company was very professional. Asbestos Professional showed up on schedule and under budget. During my kitchen and bathroom remodel, the schedule had to be changed several times due to our schedule. Asbestos was able to accommodate the changing schedule. The clean-up was perfection. We passed air quality tests in fly colors. Personnel communicated every step of the way. I would definitely use them again."

"Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories, Inc. sent a package with 2 vials and instructions for collecting the samples.  I collected the samples as instructed, completed a questionnaire, and returned the sample vials as instructed.  A week or two later they sent the analysis.  Everything went as expected.  There were no problems. <br />"

FAQs for asbestos testing projects in Denver, CO

Asbestos appears as long, thin, or curled mineral fibers that are not visible to the naked eye under normal conditions. Homes constructed before 1989 are more likely to contain this material, so a professional inspection is essential. Because asbestos identification requires specialized techniques, having a certified inspector assess your property is the safest way to confirm its presence and protect your family’s health.

Free asbestos testing services do not exist. You can purchase testing kits online for $30 per unit, and these kits include lab fees, return shipping, consultation, sampling media, and the final results. The results from a kit are less detailed and accurate than those provided by a certified asbestos testing professional. Since collecting a sample exposes you to harmful fibers, hiring a professional is essential to ensure safety and accurate testing.

Receiving asbestos test results takes one to seven days, but different labs offer varying turnaround times. When expedited processing is arranged, the laboratory completes analysis within 24 hours; standard processing requires up to two weeks. Hiring a certified professional ensures that all samples are collected correctly and results are provided without delay, safeguarding your home throughout the process.

Home insurance doesn't often cover asbestos testing and removal. Many policies have a clause called a "pollution exclusion," which means they do not cover indoor pollutants like asbestos. However, your insurance company might cover something like asbestos siding removal costs if it is released due to things beyond your control, such as storm damage.

If a DIY project or accident in your home releases harmful fibers, you must pay for the test and removal.

Yes, you can legally inspect and remove asbestos in your house as long as it's a single-family home and not a multi-family unit. However, the EPA strongly recommends hiring an asbestos abatement pro since testing can be dangerous.

Pros have all the right tools and safety equipment, and you risk breathing in the fibers by taking samples yourself. They also know how to collect samples and safely dispose of materials properly.

Asbestos encapsulation is a process that seals asbestos-containing materials with a protective barrier to prevent the release of harmful fibers. It serves as an alternative to complete removal when full abatement is not necessary. Encapsulation costs between $2 and $6 per square foot, offering a cost-effective option that contains asbestos safely when applied by a certified professional.
