The mudjacking process that Pingel Mudjacking uses works to raise and support settled and uneven concrete by injecting grout under the settled area. This is done by drilling 1 5/8" holes through the surface. Grout is pumped through the slab to float slab in proper place. After mudjacking is complete, holes are patched and textured to match the existing concrete as closely as possible.\n\nLeveled concrete that is at least 10 years old, can be expected to stay in position until the end of its useful life.

"Justin and his team are great. A beautiful family room addition was separating from our house. We brought in the top 3 contractors in the area, and Justin was the only one who got down in the dirt under the deck to take a look at things. They were not the cheapest option but were the ones who aligned with the structural engineer we used for an assessment, and they made me feel comfortable throughout a stressful situation. I will recommend them to anyone I know for foundation work! Great bunch of people!"

"The sunken concrete was a liability lawsuit waiting to happen. I am very happy to have this problem resolved. It was a fascinating process. First they raised the larger driveway piece, then they brought up the sunken sidewalk and made everything even. The whole process only took about an hour to an hour and a half. The two guys worked steadily and were friendly when I spoke with them. Thanks, Iowa Concrete!"

"After several weeks they came out and leveled my driveway and then a few weeks after that filled in the cracks left over with driveway caulk material. All good at that point, so I sent them a check. About a month or two after that, the leveling failed and now I have about a one inch difference between the upper and lower pieces of concrete. They guarantee their work for 3 years. Tried calling the employee with whom I contracted several times as well as the main number over a dozen times. I've never even gotten a call back. Stay away from this company - they are toxic."

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Des Moines, IA

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
