"Chris Peplinski came out and gave us a fair and honest estimate on fixing our foundation. Alex and crew arrived and installed helical piers to shore up our foundation and you couldn’t tell they were even here. Everything from the first call to the install was top notch! Highly Recommend!"

"We drew up an idea of what we were thinking about and he took our idea and brought it to life. We are so happy with it and so our our animals. It's been a few years old now and it holding up just great and I am glad we agreed on a metal roof as he suggested and a gutter system.
"

"
Just wanted to drop a line or two and let you all know how impressed we were with both your workmen and their work. In today's society, you just don't find companies that really do a great job, they usually just do enough to "get by".

At times, without their knowledge, I was home and could hear some of the men talking. Much to my surprise, their language and subject matter were always appropriate. Don't find that much in the labor force today! It spoke volumes to me. When they did speak with us, they were always very kind and informative.

The work that was performed consisted of excavating the dirt to gain access to the footings on both sides of the foundation. On the inside, they had to bust out the concrete floor and hand dig to the footing in order to install their brackets for the "unified lift system". After installing the brackets, they attached special hydraulic equipment to the brackets which drove 3" diameter

pipes down to bedrock. Next, they attached a hydraulic jacking system to each pier location. Using their special vehicle with a unique hydraulic pumping system they attached hydraulic lines to each location and were able to do a controlled lift. From what we understand, your company is one of the only ones that can perform this "unified lift".

We were taking pictures daily and emailing them out to family and friends who could not believe their eyes! They started out making our basement look like a bomb went off and when they were done it was swept and looking very nice!

All this to say that the work done was absolutely astonishing! We will highly recommend EHM to everyone that we hear may need this type of work completed.

Thanks so much again. We were dreading having this work completed, but you all made it so much nicer by your

expertise, kindness, and professionalism.

Mike and Cheryl

"

"At the end of a very warm June 2011 our first floor water heater busted when we were not at the cottage. The water pump was not turned off, and therefore, the water tank just kept making hot water. A friend who checks on the cottage periodically walked into this disaster. The first week we had a contractor that we were unhappy with and then called Kelly Construction. Mike Kelly the owner took the "bull by the horns" so to speak and charged ahead. Most of the repairs were covered by insurance, but we had extra work that needed to be done which came to $9,500. Total job was about $36,000. They did a fabulous job in reconstructing ¾ of the inside of our cottage. There was water, mold and warping damage to floors, subfloors, paneling, doors, walls, ceilings and cupboards bathroom and kitchen. In the crawl space the support beams had mainly mold damage and the insullation had water damage. Carpeting and linoleum were ruined and needed replacing. The cottage needed to be repainted ceiling to floor. Mike pointed out some structure issues: front house beam and bathroom floor supports which we had him fix correctly; front doorwall was leaking at the floor rotting the floorboards; large picture window was leaking in water; and there were issues in the attic which we had his company handle. (These were some of the out-of-pocket costs.) Mike explained what had to be done and how it was going to be fixed. Mike Kelly handled the demolision and reconstruction as if it were his own cottage. He was terrific. He had a pleasant and caring manner. He went above and beyond the duties of a contractor to make sure everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction. There were a few minor issues and he came back and fixed them until they met with our satisfaction. He stands by his work.
"

"A young contractor who understands old homes? Yes please!
Working with Jay and Jenn of Pro-Tech was great. They were very helpful in guiding us through a process which in hindsight was a bit aggressive for two new homeowners. To give you some context, we close on Valentine's Day which was on a Tuesday. We had movers hauling our stuff on that Friday. The very next Saturday, I was busting up our existing kitchen helping the Pro-Tech guys with some of the demolition work.
What started the work was our home inspector recommended we upgrade the copper water piping. When Jay told us what we had to do to get that done, I asked him if it were possible to leave certain walls "open". He asked, "Are you talking kitchen remodel?" And so it began.
We were on a budget. Jay helped us develop a plan to revitalize our kitchen without needing to rely on ramen and sardines as diet staples.
Many times, it was just Jay working on our kitchen, but for the major updates he brought his crew and they were respectful and skilled. Never once did we worry about who was working on our home.
Anyway, we appreciated their work so much, we're having them back on an emergency restoration project, which is their specialty.
"

"Started out fine given a price of $50.00 per foot. Some of the work had to be changed due to having room to move all items from two different walls. Decided to do one wall at this time and delay the other until spring of the year. This change brought the work from $50.00 a foot to $91.00 per foot. We did have the work as it was a area that needed the most attention, and the company had spent time with us setting up the work. The increase was totally out of line from my point of . view. We will look for someone else to do the remaining 30 feet in the spring of the year."

FAQs for concrete injection leveling mudjacking projects in Drummond Island, MI

Mudjacking and foam jacking differ significantly in both materials and methods. Mudjacking uses a cement-based slurry to fill voids beneath a slab, while foam jacking uses expanding polyurethane foam delivered under high pressure to achieve superior structural support. This material distinction enhances load-bearing strength and overall stability in your repair.

Mudjacking takes between one and three days to dry completely. During this time, it's important to avoid putting weight on the slab until it's fully cured. The drying time depends on the project size and environmental conditions. In contrast, polyurethane foam used in foam jacking can cure in as little as one hour.

No, mudjacking is not a permanent fix for sinking concrete. While it effectively lifts the slab and can last five to 10 years, it doesn't address underlying soil issues that may cause future sinking. For a more permanent solution, you might consider foam jacking or complete slab replacement, which can address deeper structural problems.
