"I contacted George based on the reviews here and had a truly great experience.  I could not have hoped for someone more professional, courteous and thorough.  His team was large enough to get the job done quickly and properly all while doing a great job. 
From the initial quote to getting the work done, George was punctual, responsive to texts and phone calls.  He made good suggestions to make our house look great and the execution was spot on.  We needed to have some porch railing bars replaced and instead of replacing the whole railing, he suggested replacing just the vertical posts that were damaged.  After painting, I could not tell original from repaired ones and the painting job was excellent.  He also made sure there was an extra coat of paint put on an exterior section of the house that he repaired to make sure it stood up to the sun and rain.
On the inside of the house, he repainted all of the walls and a couple of ceilings.  His team spackled blemishes, sanded and painted.  It is amazing and the house looks brand new!  There was no paint splatter on the carpet or floors and the edging was skilfully done. 
After all of this work, I only found a couple of spots that needed touch ups and he came by and promptly fixed these.
Overall, he and his team made this experience really easy and the result is fantastic.  I would highly recommend George and his team and we'll be using his services in the future!

"I am a senior with a background in construction.  After reviewing many contractors and speaking with some of them, I immediately knew I hit the jackpot when I spoke to Danny.
 
1.  He knew exactly what I needed and wanted done when I first spoke to him.  This entailed the replacement, repair, and installation of the items listed above with attention to quality in materials, prevention of future problems, a fair price, and a commitment to starting and showing up once the job was initiated.  Danny exceeded every expectation in these regards!
2.  I silently knew in advance manufacturers, quality and cost of exterior doors (including the french door), storm doors, door locks and deadbolts, leak-proof door sills for 6 inch exterior walls and a leak-proof barrier on the bottom of the door frames.  Without knowing of my preferences, Danny suggested the identical manufacturers and materials I had in mind.  At this juncture, we met and I hired Danny to perform the work.
3.  I am beyond pleased with the outcome of Danny's effort on this project.  As an example of his integrity, he asked me to trust him in the design and installation of an exterior octagonal window in a bathroom.  My wife and I were literally blown away with a handcrafted symmetrical waterproof tunnel and inside wall frame he created - more akin to an artistic piece than a window.
4. Inside work was always minimally invasive using tarps and soft shoes rather than work boots.  Outside and inside cleanup at the end of each work day was respectfully performed leaving no mess.
I would recommend Danny to anyone requiring any kind of interior or exterior installation, modification, or repair as I have seen firsthand examples of his experience, skills, and personal and business ethics.  In fact, Danny is presently working on costs to replace our roof."

Friendly Painting did a fabulous job correcting my painting mistakes!  I was doing touch up paint in the condo living room with 18 feet walls in preparation for my new renters.  I ran into trouble when the old paint in the can had dried up, Sherwin Williams no longer carried the same color and there was a different formula that they were never (after numerous tries) able to match up for me.  While mixing and trying to match, I painted over the old and new paint in a few places and tried out the new shades.  I eventually arrived at the matching color, but the sheen was all wrong with the natural window lighting and the original eggshell paint looking more flat after a few years.  From the angle in the kitchen looking through the cut out to the living room, my touch up work looked awful with the lighting and stuck out like a sore thumb. I finally gave up and decided to call a professional painting company!  I found Friendly Painting on Angie's list and they answered after 5P!  Tom Seo, the owner, listened to my sob story and gave me a quote (with a 10% Angie discount) and said a team would be out the next afternoon!   He reassured me that they were excellent painters and would resolve my painting problems.  They were an hour late in arriving, but more than made up for it in their professional techniques to correct my blunders!  Yes, they tried to sand and roller over my painting, but when I pointed out how my work was still showing through, Jose quickly came up with a plan and the perfect solutions!  He got Armando and Abdias to spackle over a few places, the hair dryer came out and within a few minutes the roller paint covered everything perfectly.  They completed my job in about 2 hours (with a 20 minute break to let the first coat of paint dry before the 2nd one was applied), with Armando high on the ladder, Abdias doing the cut in work and Jose rollering.  The final result is that my living room walls look gorgeous!

I will use this company again and certainly hope I get this same team of Jose, Armando and Abdias!  They worked well as a team, were very knowledgeable about their work and were a joy to have in my home.

My wife and I recently purchased a condo in Arlington as an investment/rental property.  The condo was built in 1942 and the existing kitchen was in bad shape.  As part of our overall renovation of the property we decided to replace the kitchen.  We initially requested an estimate from a major, national home remodeling company (NOT Mag Remodeling). But we were unhappy with the process, product and costs from the national remodeler.
So, I joined Angie's List and found Mag Remodeling.  Mag Remodeling (Ahmed) took a look at the kitchen and very quickly came up with some innovative ideas to make it all work.  I immediately felt much more comfortable working with Ahmed than with the big, national remodeler.  He saw the potential of the property and also understood that as a rental unit we needed to make the kitchen appealing to as many potential tenants as possible but also keep costs in control.
Within a few days Ahmed designed the new kitchen.  We were very constrained by space, because the kitchen is only 7' x 7' but he was able to optimize the use of that small area.  Then Ahmed took me to his cabinet supplier.  We selected some beautiful, all wood, cabinets that were actually less expensive than the fiber-board, cabinets from the national home remodeler.  In addition, his cabinet supplier provided the cabinets in 5 days, while the national remodeler's cabinets would not ship for 6 weeks.
Ahmed then quoted me a price that was significantly lower than the national remodeler.  He started the job several days later.  He did the demolition.  The cabinets were delivered on time.  Ahmed installed the cabinets as soon as they were delivered.  All cabinets fit perfectly.  He installed the ceramic tile floor.  He recommended an electrician who was reasonably priced and performed the work within the next couple of days.  He recommended a counter/granite supplier who was also reasonably priced and provided/installed beautiful countertops.  Then Ahmed installed the backsplash, completed the plumbing work and finished the job.
We're very happy with the results.  We listed the condo for rental a few weeks ago.  The kitchen is the center piece of the listing.  The kitchen pictures are what has brought us the potential tenants.  All the potential tenants who have seen the kitchen have loved it.  We have now rented the condo to tenants that are very happy to have that kitchen.
