"The dryer really needed a new belt but the technician was sold the wrong one or at least it didn't fit my dryer. I was give no written receipt for the service. All the previous companies I have received any kind on service with have emailed me an invoice with a few hours. In this case the tech did not finish until after 5:30 pm. I don't know if I will get an invoice from K & K Industrials or not. Kenneth said he did several things that needed take care of such as excessive lint deep inside the dryer. The problem I called for was loud squealing when the dryer was running. That at least seems to have stopped. Kenneth did spend about two hours which included getting parts. My dryer is still running with a old belt after spending $310."

"We had a problem with a drain from a window well that would result in continuous flooding in our basement. We were finally able to fix the problem with the drain and hopefully prevent further flooding. So we contacted two businesses about mold remediation and removal of the damaged drywall and paneling. The first company, provided a good estimate but they were not as professional or reliable as we wanted. After searching online we were able to located American Home Services and then used Angie's List and saw they had great reviews. I immediately called them about receiving a free estimate and they offered to be out at my house the next day to give us an estimate. The President of the company was the person who came out to give us our estimate. He was able to explain everything that would need to be done a reasonable time frame (2 days). I received the completed estimate within 24 hours and scheduled the appointment shortly there after. American Home Services responded on time and placed plastic down in the hallway that leads to our basement to prevent any damage to our floors. My wife and I then waited as they worked for the day and after they completed the days work, they then showed us the basement and what they completed. Overnight they left a dehumidifier and other equipment to complete the work. The next day they came back and hand cleaned any spots that weren't completely cleaned within the first day's work. After they were done, I was then shown the basement and the work that was done. I then received a receipt for the services and a print out of all the work/chemicals that were used in the basement during the repair. American Home Services then provided us with a warranty to come back and fix any problems within the first year. Overall American Home Services is a great business that is willing to work with their clients and make sure that their needs and concerns are met.

"I wish my first call had been to Eddie and Repair Tech Plus. He fixed my TV after another repair service told me the situation was hopeless if I didn't spend an unreasonable amount of money with them (after, of course, they'd missed their first appointment with me). The best part of dealing with Eddie instead was his professional and friendly approach; he was prompt, on-time, informative, and frank. He always returned phone calls as promised, showed up as agreed. As an authorized technician, he always called the TV company direct if there were any technical issues that needed dealing with. During the initial diagnostic visit, he very honestly talked to me about the cons of repair -- that depending on which component needed to be replaced, it may approach the cost of simply buying a new (albeit smaller) set. I decided to go ahead with the repair anyway, and Eddie did everything he could to make sure we got it repaired efficiently and in a timely manner. I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal for 6 hours of Handyman Labor for $250.

I have 2 other Angie's List Handyman Big Deal experiences (with other Handyman companies, who were all highly rated on AL), as well as assorted other workers over the years, to compare with my experience today.  The other companies were fine, and I have actually tried to schedule them for other work, but the other companies would either never call back, or else they were just too busy with AL Big Deals.  What's up with that, by the way? You'd think the goal would be to become a regular worker, without having to continually discount their work with Big Deals.

Don DeWitt was by far, and I mean stratosphere far, the absolute best handyman.

It was easy to reach him, and to get on his schedule within the week.  So what if he arrived 20 minutes late . . he gave me and extra hour free to compensate!

The quality of his work was matched by his professionalism: clean work area, no borrowing of my tools -- he had everything including oddball spare parts, worked continually with no breaks for 7 hours!, worked very fast, and was very pleasant and thoughtful.  He came up with smart, inventive solutions whenever parts didn't fit or situations didn't go as expected.  (and that happens with just about any home project, right?)  It was so obvious that he has tremendous experience and skills.

I will absolutely call him for my next to-do list!
