"Chris installed fireplace doors we purchased from Fireworks in Rockford. He was prompt, did an excellent job, and gave tips on how to maintain the product moving forward. He wasn't at the house to install a new gas starter pipe but I asked his opinion on ours, as it has warped quite a bit since initial use and he replaced it for me at the same time for a fair price. Chris is knowledgable and does top notch work. I highly recommend him for any of your fireplace needs.
"

"Provided a service call for a refrigerator that we not working. Freezer was still working. I called on Monday and made an appointment for Wednesday morning. He called exactly at 7:30 am to let me know the time he would be out. Showed up exactly at the time that he said he would be there. I had a frozen pipe so he thawed the pipe and checked for holes. When non were found, he said that if it happened again, he would return at no additional charge. Didn't try to replace parts that were not broken and the refigerator has been working fine ever since. This is a 15 year old refrigerator so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. They were well work the speedy house call. Thanks!
"

"When the furnace would not start, I called Gilley for warranty replacement of the inducer.
The first visit confirmed my request but I was charged $70 . I agree that it had to be verified but I didn't expect to be charged for it. When the part came in the serviceman replaced it and charged me another $87. There's something wrong with charging for warranty work. It really should be billed to the manufacturer. At the very least, I should have been informed of the charges in advance.

I had the service tech look at the chimney cap (from the ground) while he was there. He said that someone would call me to check it out. I was never contacted.

Earlier this month I contacted Gilley to ask for an additional discount for cleaning furnaces in the 5 homes I own,. I was told that someone would check and call me back. No one ever contacted me.

Last year was my first experience with Gilley when they installed a new furnace in one of my homes and I was very pleased with the whole process. I know that the owner is cutting back on his involvement and perhaps this explains my dissatisfaction this time.

Please note that my "C" grade for professionalism is not intended to reflect on the service tech but on the company as a whole."

"Amazing customer service by this business. The woman on the phone was so responsive that one day I called and the phone was switched to fax. She saw my number and called me back to see what I needed.
The came out to diagnose the problem or rather what was broken on the electronic ignition for the pilot light on my gas fireplace. The service rep was able to manually light it so I could at least use my fireplace in the interim. They were able to track down the part, order and install it in a very timely manner. I strongly recommend this company.
"

"
The whole appointment took about 4 hours. There were at least four guys who worked efficiently and didn't leave a mess when they left. My husband asked them to leave the copper piping and they left it in a neat pile.
They explained what they had done after. So far we are happy with the service and their quote was better than the big competitor here in Rockford. They contracted the duct cleaning with another company as part of our price so hopefully that goes well next week.
"

"Andy called me with an opening a week earlier than he originally scheduled us. He was punctual and professional. We recapped again what he and his helper would do when he arrived. Andy re-supported the load bearing solid wall before cutting out the section we needed removed. He also cut back part of the wall on the other side of the stairway to open up the room and made it plumb so I could frame in a closet door in the future when we finish the basement. He rough drywalled the supporting post, header and remaining stairway and quot;short-walland quot; to the floor. I said I would be responsable for taping and finishing the drywall to keep my costs lower.
They did everyhting they said they would and more. They were in and out in a half day and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing the skills they offer.

"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Durand, IL

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
