"I thought he did a good job explaining what he did do but very disappointed they didn't explain that you had to pay a lot extra money to actually find out what kind of mold if any you had. The $199.00 fee they only looked for mold & tested the air quality. If they found any mold it cost a lot more to find out what type. He did say we had mold in our crawl space but not what kind, that cost more money. Overall good for what he did do."

"went very well.  jeff and his wife connie are very experienced and thorough-- they are really the experts when it comes to all kinds of allergens, including mold, and have their own techniques for testing.  they were really helpful in providing follow up and i would recommend them to anyone.  they were very booked and came to me on a saturday which i really appreciated.  they have several good books which provide excellent additions to the info i received in the report. <br />"

"We've had Abide to our home for both asbestos and mold remediation. The first time through, they remediated textured paint on our ceilings and closets; the second pass, they gutted all the exterior walls, which had asbestos-containing dry wall joint compound, and they did so without damaging the ceiling. They also removed all of the mold-containing insulation. The quotes were prompt and reasonable, and the work has been without exception professional and clean. We really appreciate how careful they were and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them."

"I explained to Jeff that I had bought a new condo, which was new construction, and I had concerns that the HVAC was not properly working and I wasn't getting enough clean air. Jeff was able to come the very next day. He is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does. He conducted many tests - toxic gas levels, dust, mold, dander, etc. After about 30 minutes of testing, he identified I had a slow gas leak in my gas fireplace, which apparently had not been installed right. He stayed with me while the gas company came to remedy the situation. I am so grateful for him or I would never have known about the leak, which was probably contributing to health issues I was having. He also was able to turn around the other lab results incredibly quickly. Several others in my building have since hired him. Can't recommend him enough."

"Jeremy from Prime came over to inspect the mold issue and came up with a solution to eradicate and prevent any further mold. Very professional, prompt ( arrive at 9:15, right to the minute), and did a great job. Very reasonably priced. I researched several options, who came out for a quote, and Prime was the best in professionalism, price and work. Highly recommended!!!"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Easthampton, MA

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
