"Brian first repaired a wall in my house that had water damage, then he did a few other jobs such as 2 closet installations, tv installation, pressure washing and a couple of other repair jobs around my house. He seemed extremely skilled and hardworking. He was very personable and courteous, and he’s a Christian, too! He did a great job, I’m very pleased with his work. I highly recommend Totka Construction for carpentry & construction work."

"We hired Screen Force after receiving 3 estimates to rescreen our very large pool enclosure, and to add a 3rd door out onto the property. Leo came out and provided the estimate, he was on time, did all the measurements, and is just a really great guy, down to earth, no hard sales tactics and a good sense of humor. When I made a change to some of the screen type, he very quickly re-estimated the difference in pricing for me right away without delay. Once we committed to Screen Force Leo collected the deposit, and the next day the office called to get the job scheduled. They arrived yesterday with a full crew of guys on time and got right to work. I don’t know any of the installers names as I was in a hurry to leave to head to work, but there was about 6 or so of them. They completed the job same day, and for the most part cleaned up after themselves. One or more (?) of the installers actually went above and beyond their job. It was apparently noticed that one of our long rain spout drains had come off at the gutter, they found that piece about 10ft away in the yard by the chicken coop, and put it back up for us! I want Screen Force AND the installer/s to know that it did NOT go unnoticed by us, and it was very kind of them to extend themselves in that way & we are very much appreciative of that thoughtfulness. They were recommended to me by my neighbor. I am very pleased from start to finish and would recommend them. Screen Force thank you from our family to yours"

"Woke up and discovered that I could not get my garage door opened. The coil had broke. I called Precision Door for a service call at 9 am. They texted me to let me know who would be coming by and when. By noon, they helped me get the door open so that I can get my car out of the garage and by 4 pm my door was as good as new. I can't say enough good things about this company in particular the guys they sent over. Alex was terrific. He diagnosed my issue immediately and gave me a price with options for door repair and/or replacement. I chose repair. Teddy was the repair tech and he was equally as impressive; professional, courteous and very knowledgeable. I recommend these guys highly!!"

"I had experienced some water damage in my living room earlier this year. I contacted Jerry through Angie's List and he responded in less then an hour. A few days later he came to my house and gave me an estimate for the repairs I needed. The estimate was right in the middle of what I expected it to be. I agreed to go forward and two days later Jerry was at my house promptly and fixed my wall in one day.
Not only did I have to have drywall and molding replaced but my walls are textured with plaster. Jerry told me that the texture would not be a problem and that he could match it exactly. He wasn't kidding. You can't tell the difference between the original and the repair.  No other contractor said they could do this! Jerry was extremely professional throughout and his work was of the utmost quality.
At the end of the day, I had my wall fixed and it looks great, we settled on the agreed upon price and I got my living room back. I will eventually need to make some other repairs in my house and I will be going to Jerry first. Thank you again!

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Edgewater, FL

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
