"Our downstairs toilet, shower and sinks were backing up. We called Drain Pro and they arrived shortly after to look at the problem. They scoped the sewer line with a camera and found a big blockage that was caused by roots. They were able to clear the blockage. Everything is now working great. We will have them back in the future to re pipe the area where the roots have started coming thru. This company is great!!!"

"I've always had good luck with plungers but not this time. I even tried baking soda and vinegar followed by hot water. Nothing worked so I called Matthew. Matthew explained the toilet drain mechanism and showed me how to use an auger to clear the clog, and to use the rubber boot to protect the "china." I always learn something valuable with Trident!"

"We had a completely clogged kitchen sink. Alex Y. (the Rescue Rooter employee) is a friendly, quiet, patient, and highly professional tradesman. He wore protectors over his boots to keep our house clean, went into the crawlspace for a thorough check of the drain pipes, to ensure proper drain angle without any sagging pipes, all part of the free inspection. He gave us a firm quote on each of two approaches to clear the clog, snake or water-jet. While it wasn't chepa, Alex' quotes were well under the estimates from the RotoRooter rep (who did NOT inspect the pipes in the crawl space). We opted for the snake, and Alex did a quick and effective job. He also suggested a product we could use to prevent future blockages, and his price for that product was again less than RotoRooter's. Rescue Rooter also gives a 10% discount for seniors, or for veterans. Unfortunately, I couldn't persuade him to give me a double discount as a very senior veteran. Oh, well."

"Good work, very friendly, very prompt. I've had Noel come out multiple times for various issues, and in emergencies like when my garbage disposal leaks, he's very accomodating. He has installed faucets, replaced garbage disposal, fixed a leaky bathtub, cleaned out slow-moving drains."

"I was reluctant to call "the big company," but based on all the good reviews, I did call them. The whole organization did great. Excellent dispatching, promising someone within 4 hours. They called at 2 hours just to let me know they hadn't forgotten about me. They called again when the plumber was enroute. Carlos quickly sized up the situation, gave me an estimate, and got to work. The blockage was tougher than expected, and he actually broke his smaller drain snake cable. We got the bigger machine out, and that did the job. Once he thought he was through the blockage, he had me turn on as many faucets upstairs as possible to ensure that we had full flow. He even kept feeding the snake in to make sure the whole line was clean all the way to the street. Carlos worked as clean as possible by working on a tarp, and then cleaned the area as he finished. Two hours of on-site work total,"

"These folks reached out promptly, asked me questions to determine the extent of our situation and what solutions that I had tried, then sent a technician to correct our plumbing problem. There were complications with our old plumbing. The whole system was affected. We were able to clear the blockage but it took some time. All of the way through the plumber had a positive attitude and willingness to do what had to be done to fix our home. It s pretty unpleasant to have every end of your septic system open, both inside and outside the house. There were system design flaws that had to be corrected which hindered the process. Our plumber Grant was great and got it fixed"

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Edmonds, WA

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
