"Had already gotten some other estimates from other companies, but upon asking further questions, they disappeared. Solarshield came out when they said, gave an estimate and estimated time to start which was just about when I had wanted to have it done - before hurricane season. Frank the owner was out there too, he and the crew answered all my questions. These guys pay attention to details too. They put tarps all around the house to catch as much of the roof debris as possible. My fascia board was rather discolored, so they even cleaned that while the drip edge was off the roof. Also another detail, when they finished the roof, they got matching paint to paint the new j-vent for the stove vent, the sewer gas vents, and the metal chimney. It took about 5 days (all together) to redo my roof. This was a complete strip down, wind mitigation rehab, with the new standing seam covered screw metal roof with one valley, five hips and two ridge vents. There was only one very small leak at the chimney, when I called, Frank came out to fix it. After that, we had 3 tropical systems come calling (one with 6" of rain!) and not a leak to be seen. Solarshield supplied pictures and documents of the wind mit items (duplicates) for insurance and with my next renewal, my insurance premium went down by at least 30% just due to the new roof! If you are on the fence about getting a metal roof, do it if you can manage the slight extra cost. I believe that in the next few years, benefits from reduced insurance, reduced electric bills, eventual set up of solar on the roof without having to reroof again any time soon afterwards, and peace of mind will pay off greatly. I won't have to worry about the roof during my retirement!"

"Jim was very prompt and seemed responsive. He is a nice guy who works hard.  He started the work when he said he would and kept it on schedule in spite of some difficult weather.   His brother worked with him the first few days, but after that he did all of the work himself. 
Unfortunately, the work does not look as professional as I had hoped.  Some of the wood is not cut straight, edges are not smooth, and there are many gaps between boards. 
As the work got toward completion I told him of my concern that the workmanship was not good.  Jim said he would get it all fixed up at the end.  He filled some gaps with wood filler and sanded them, but did not finish due to rain.  The filled and sanded joints still look sloppy.  Unfortunately, these joints are right in front of the kitchen window, where we see them all the time.
Jim said he has a lifetime guarantee on his work and will come back to finish this up.  I hope he will.
Another builder told me that the structural work on the deck is very good, even "overbuilt," which I was glad to hear.

Update: Jim came back and relaid some of the boards on the deck and it looks much better! I would definitely hire him again.

Update:  The second summer after Jim built the deck I stained it myself, so I got a close look at the workmanship. Many boards were split by nailing, decking is not spaced uniformly, and  joints are not well fitted. "

We finally bought our home in the area of Coral Gables. It’s a property of 2000 sqf more or less that features hardwood floors everywhere. As you can imagine, we wanted to remodel a little bit before moving into the house, so we set up a budget for painting, remodeling the kitchen, and of course fixing the floors that seemed over 100 years old. When the floors were ready to be stained, they did some samples for us to choose the color we liked. They did an amazing job! When we got back to the house to review everything, we were flipped by the way the floors looked. All perfect like brand new. They are skilled craftsmen and pay attention to details. After we had paid them everything, we decided to change the baseboards in the house and we had no idea where to choose from, so we called Mr. Martinez to ask him for suggestions. The next day, he brought several samples of baseboards and helped us make the choice. They installed all the baseboards in the house and the cuts were perfect. They have a vast experience on hardwood floors and know what the customer wants and expects from them. We are very happy with them."
