"I needed my attic insulation updated. It had the original “blown in” loose material from 1975. After 49 years it had deteriorated and compressed. It was only a few inches deep. Also a leak in our old roof (recently replaced) had caused some mold in the old insulation. It had to be removed completely and redone. I called JB Insulation and asked for an estimate. Jose came over and inspected our attic. His experience and expertise was evident by how he explained everything. I felt very confident that I wanted his company to do the job. His price was very competitive and offered us the most value for our money. On the day of the job, his guys took much care in preparing for the job. They covered and taped our floors and wall corners to protect our home’s interior. They used a high powered insulation vacuum and removed all of the old insulation. "My 20 year old furnace died on a cold Thursday evening and I got online to find a company to replace it. After entering my contact info, I immediately received a text message from the company's owner, Casey, making himself available for me if I wanted to talk by phone. I had him call me, and he checked in to see what the problem was, what I wanted to do, and to be sure I had heat for the evening. He even offered to drive space heaters to my home if needed, even though he was at least 45 minutes away. He then scheduled to meet with me at my convenience the next day to look at my home and discuss options. During the meeting, Casey was very personable, knowledgeable,and professional about the products and services his company offered and helped me design a heating/air conditioning system to replace my old, inefficient furnace and wall a/c and insulate existing ducts. He also referred me to my utility company to see if rebates were available, which there were. The workers who installed the products were pleasant, professional, and skilled and ensured that their work met the city's requirements so that I was eligible for the rebate. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
