Small jobs welcome

"Brandon was incredible. Very kind and informative. Asking for feedback throughout while offering advice. Additionally, Brandon mounted a shelf system below the TV for a very marginal additional fee."

"They sent 2 men and we moved furniture from my basement up into my living room after I had my floors done. They did a great job. There was one thing that I did not understand about the coupon, it's that the time starts for when they leave wherever they are. So the clock doesn't start when they arrive and it was kind of a surprise. They gave me a little extra time because I didn't know that but that was not full disclosure on the coupon or anything else. I think they should be upfront about that or change that policy and build whatever extra cost they need for travel time into the price which would make more sense to me. I don't know anybody who expects to get movers and expects it to start whenever they dispatch because you don't know where they're going to be. They could have been in Colorado Springs which is 90 miles away from me. I told them they didn't need to bring their van because it was all an inside move which was fine. They hauled a lot of stuff from the basement for me which is really, really great because I never could have done it myself. They arranged the furniture and put down my rugs. The work was completed. I rate them a "B" because of that surprise about the time but after considering that they worked that out with me I would give them an "A". They worked hard and they just kept moving. They did not take a rest which is really nice for me because I had a lot of stuff to move."

"The computer technician, Tammy, was excellent.  He arrived on time and was very personable.  Our computer is several years old and has been running slow, so he cleaned it up for us.  He tried to show us how to perform some maintenance tasks on our own.
After he was finished, he had to call in to the main Geek Choice number to settle the bill.  When I spoke with the person on the phone from Geek Choice, I was astonished when they told me the bill was for $300, which included 2.5 hours service at $100 per hour and a $50 fee for home visit.  I informed her that I had ordered the first hour through Angie's List for $75 and that the home visit fee was waived.  She retrieved my information and charged me a balance of $135, to include the reduced hourly fee of $90 per hour.  So Angie's List saved me almost $100, which I totally appreciate.
I give the technician high marks but the company, Geek Choice, seems like just another corporation trying to make more money off the consumer than they should.  I'm glad I went through Angie's List.

"No complaints. The Technician was professional and completed the tasks in a professional manner. I used an Angies list coupon for one of the jobs and it was a fair price. The other TV was a little more. I used the Angies list service because I wanted to support local business people. I was surprised to find out the Tech was an independent contractor provided by a California company. A month or so later I needed another TV mounted. In addition to Hellotech I looked into another internet company that begins with "A" that provides local contractors for home repairs. The other service was quite a bit cheaper ($118) and the repair work was comparable. If I can't avoid national internet companies I might as well go for the cheapest."

"Knowledgeable, highly capable, flexible, and ever-available, Aaron has these and many more qualities to recommend him as an entertainment systems expert. When he first arrived at our home, he thoughtfully listened to our projected plan and offered invaluable insight as to how we might go about installing the correct system, considering various possibilities at different costs. He also offered excellent suggestions to improve on what we had in mind. When we finally decided what we wanted to do, he went about purchasing the components and then installing them. We love our new system, which exceeded our expectations in both quality and functionality. But what has been particularly impressive to us is Aaron’s follow up. He responded almost instantly to our initial questions and after about a week came over again to offer his expertise in training us to use our new system properly, tailoring it to our specific needs. He spent this time with us at no extra cost. Since then, a couple of other minor issues have come up, and Aaron is always patient and unfailingly responsive. It is evident that he takes considerable pride in his work and takes pleasure in assisting and educating his clients. We very much appreciate him and his efforts."

"These guys are the best - they are the most affordable and professional company I could find (and believe me, I looked). I had them take down my flatscreen at one apt., they drove it to my new apt., installed it, made an HDMI cable for better resolution (free of charge), and cleaned everything afterwards - the finished project was great! When it was time to move again, they came and dismounted my TV for practically nothing. These are very professional, friendly people and I would highly recommend them to anyone for any type of home entertainment/technology needs. Don't even bother working elsewhere."

FAQs for home theater system or media center installation projects in Empire, CO

For those on a budget, a home theater system can be installed for as little as $5,000. This simple setup, which doesn’t require professional installation, includes essential components that provide reliable visual and audio performance. It's a budget-friendly way to enjoy movies, TV shows, and live events from the comfort of your home.

Plan to spend at least $70,000 for a high-end home theater. At this price point, you’re paying for advanced components, including flagship projectors, reference-grade speakers, dedicated subwoofers, robust A/V receivers, and professional installation. These features deliver outstanding picture quality, rich surround sound, and a polished finish. Costs climb quickly when you add custom seating, acoustic treatments, and smart-home integration, so ask your installer for a detailed estimate before committing.

The ideal screen size for optimal home theater viewing ranges between 100 and 120 inches. A well-proportioned home theater room measures 24 feet by 15 feet, with a minimum ceiling height of nine feet. However, smaller spaces, such as 15 feet by 20 feet or 10 feet by 12 feet, can also work well. These dimensions enhance acoustics and visual performance, creating an immersive entertainment environment.

A well-built home theater room should last as long as the house, but the electronics inside need periodic attention. Plan to review your equipment every four to five years to see whether new formats, connection standards, or performance upgrades justify a change. Upgrading outdated projectors, receivers, or streaming devices keeps the system running efficiently and prevents compatibility issues, all while protecting the investment you’ve already made in the space.
