"I would recommend Mark in a heartbeat. He's honest. He could have told me I had problems that I didn't have and I wouldn't have known any better. He spent over an hour going over my house in all the problem areas and said that the problem wasn't my foundation. The crumbling concrete was from the rebar rusting inside the concrete, causing it to expand, crack and crumble. I had the same issue on a couple of window ledges. The problem with my blinds turned out to be a problem with tile. 4 tiles at one end sounded hollow underneath and had raised slightly, causing the blinds to press against them. Since they do concrete work, I asked him if he could repair/replace the concrete base for the door and the window ledges and he told me that he could, but that I would be much better having someone else do it. He said he would have to charge me double what others charge because his rate is based on foundation work and that's the rate he would have to charge. He even told me that the repairs I needed shouldn't cost more than $500 with a regular concrete company and that if someone tried to charge me more they were ripping me off. So he gave me an honest inspection (free) for over an hour, suggested I have someone else do the repair work and even told me how much I should expect to pay with someone else. I've never met another contractor with such good business ethics. The only weak point (and it's a stretch) is that sometimes it takes him some time to get back to you. But to me, even that is a plus, because that means he's in such demand, and after meeting him, I can understand why."

"We were in need of a structural setlement evaluation on a home we ere buying so I checked Angie's list and found Barry Smith from Pinnacle engineering. I gave Barry a call that same day and left a message. The next afternoon Barry called me back ans explained that he was in the middle of expert testimony on three trials but very much wanted to help us. Barry took down all of my contact information as well as the informayon of our realtor and contacted him instantly. Barry then called me back to let me know that he contacted the homeowners and scheduled the inspection for the next day. Barry also took his time and explained to me exactly what he would be doing and the cost. Barry also let me know the difference between what he was going to do and a sinkhole inspection. He wanted me to fully understand that his inspection was not the same as a sinkhole inspection and would not give any determination of potential sinkhole activity. Once Barry completed his inspection, he sent me an e-mail to let me know that he did not find any structural damage only settlement cracks. Barry then sent me an electronic copy of his final report with an e-mail letting me know that he mailed 3 official raised-seal copies of the report as well. The report contained high resolution photos with documentation regarding every crack he found in the home next to the photo. All-in-all, Barry made this an amazing experience. Barry is an amazing person who ensures that he does top quality work for the best price for his customer. His company does not believe in success based on quantity but quality and it shows in everything he does. Not only that, he gives you 30 days to pay because he knows the cost of moving and buying a new home. We sent his check immediately because we were so happy with the promptness of his service and him as a person. $500.00 is not a lot to pay for peace of mind.
