"We have hired Paul and his team for several projects in the past several years, most recently for a kitchen remodel. He is professional, honest, the work is done to a high standard and we trust his judgment. He has replaced our windows, remodeled our kitchen and bathrooms, remodeled our bedroom , built a new deck and made cedar siding to match existing cedar siding on our home perfectly. We highly recommend him."

"Owner of the company came to my property and he gave me a thorough bid covering the cleanup and disposal of 30 yrs of debris. He had his own dumpster trailers and his own equipment necessary to do the job. I am a very environmentally conscious person and he took the time to separate recyclables and lawn debris in different dumpsters for removal. He also gave me a fair bid to do the differed maintenance on my out buildings around my property and was able to restore multiple buildings that other contractors said would have to be torn down-removed and built new at a larger expense. We’ve recently had him back to build a hot tub surround with transparent roofing out of 120 yrs old barn wood posts that was saved from a building that couldn’t be remodeled. Definitely will have him back for future projects, highly recommended."

"We hired Fine Finish (Mark) to design and build a 2-car attached garage with partially finished space overhead, including a small finished office.
It's hard to list all the ways Mark and Travis went above and beyond during our garage addition project. First, they worked through some of the worst weather an Oregon winter has to offer. While most of Portland was crippled due to flooding, Mark and Travis were hauling shingles up a 2-story ladder and installing our roof. When they were planning the gutter installation, they noticed that our existing gutters were still full of oak leaves. So they cleaned the gutters. They were especially patient with our 18 month-old son, who affectionately referred to them as the ?guys? and took a keen interest in everything they did.
Mark anticipated future design aspects that we hadn?t thought of like leaving space and wiring in the garage for a central HVAC
system. He asked insightful questions about future plans to make sure our money was spent wisely, now and in the future. Even during the design phase, Mark was very transparent about different cost-saving options and associated tradeoffs.
We expected that once the work started, we would mostly be dealing with subcontractors. To our surprise, only the foundation work, gutters, and garage door installation were sub-contracted. Mark and Travis did all of the framing and finish work themselves. As a result, the quality of our addition is noticeably superior to that of our original home.
If you want someone to hire an army of people to throw your project together as quickly as possible, look elsewhere. If you want the attention to detail of a craftsman and an honest, no-nonsense interaction with someone who takes pride in his work and has your best interests at heart, talk to Mark. We?re glad we did and we?ll definitely be back in the future.

"We selected NW Outdoor Living and Landscapes because it was well reviewed on Angie's List. When we initially met with Robert, we liked him and his ideas for our backyard. Going back and forth with Robert, we came up with the design we wanted. Then his crew came to build it. We were very impressed with them. They were very knowledgeable, professional and competent. They built a backyard that we love."

"I called to cancel it because, there was a lot of miscommunication. There was not enough understanding of what I needed and what they were doing. Then they tried to help me out, it turned out OK in the end and it got resolved. It took me a while to call them because, I had surgery. They were responsive and good. What I had done took longer, so I had to pay another $400. I would have done more research, or gotten more bids on it. They were pleasant, and responsible. For me, it would have been better if they had sent someone at first, before they did the job. I would have shown them what needed to be done, and they would have understood me better. They were punctual."

"Eventually, most people realize that while DIY can be fulfilling, the results are not always the greatest. Iâ ve built several decks in the past and was relatively happy with the work I did but I always noticed the little things that werenâ t â perfectâ . When we decided to add a deck to the back of our home I was ready to tackle the project myself when I realized Iâ m 1 - NOT 30 anymore and 2 - really didnâ t want to end up with something that lookedâ ¦ not what my wife and I wanted. With that in mind, I began the search for a contractor, which anyone in the market knows is a difficult task to find someone who is available in the next 27 years ;-). With the help of a couple of search engines, I found Mike and MG Exterior Contracting. Once I met Mike in person, I knew he was the guy to build our deck. He answered all of my questions, explained why some of my ideas, while possible, were not necessarily cost effective or attractive. We had planned on scheduling for later in the summer but a cancelation allowed us to accelerate our timeline. MG Exterior has what I believe to be a great way of getting materials for their projects- Mike orders needed material, then I called to pay for it. In other words, MG Contracting isnâ t padding the cost of materials or hiding extra profit under a â miscellaneous materialsâ heading Mike, John and Andy showed up on Monday morning on time and ready to get started. The material had been delivered the previous Friday, so they got started without delay. Any project is going to have issues that arise and our deck was no different but Mike made sure I was aware of all issues so there werenâ t any surprises when they we done. A little about the construction. MG Exterior Contracting uses a product I had not seen before, Trex tape. They taped the top of every joist and even the cut ends of the 4x8 that hold the deck up. Something I noticed after they were done is that the tape means when you look down, you donâ t see black Trex clips and bare wood. The tape basically makes the clips disappear. I could go on and on about how impressed my wife and I with both our new deck and John and Andy and Mike as people and workers but Iâ ll leave you with this, if I had to build another deck tomorrow, there is no other contractor I would call to have do the work. Cheers"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Estacada, OR

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
