"Jeff M. was the technician for the annual service for my two sump pumps in the the basement. He was very nice and completed the job in a timely fashion. The product itself that we have of a french drain system and 2 sump pump works and we have not had any water in the basement since getting it installed. I would recommend Busy Dogs product to anyone."

Customers say: Quality work

"Petros and his assistant got to my house quickly, diagnosed the problem and gave me some options. They fixed the problem quickly and went the extra mile to install a new cleanout in my basement so it would be easier to snake the drain in the future. Petros took the time to explain what he had done and why. He was very friendly, easy to deal with and he charged me a fair price. I will definitely be calling Floros Plumbing from now on!"

"Applied for 0% Mass Save heat loan with Addarioâ s Services, and now have a Bosch Bova1.0, 18 Seer heat pump installed today 2-19-21. The only slight glitch was waiting for two parts to modify my old Thermo Pride oil furnace to make it work correctly. I highly recommend Addarioâ s Services for a prompts accurate estimate, installation, and very friendly customer service."

"Great, wish I had hired them for the original install. Originally contacted them about replacing failed water pumps when they failed after less than a year. Instead of milking a cash cow, they explained that it would just need replacement frequently and that the best option is to use gravity drainage. They easily installed the drip lines to drain into the basement sink when the original installer didn't even offer that option, saying that water pumps were required for interior wall mounts."

"Wendel's team worked extremely efficiently to complete my full perimeter interior french drain and sump pump installation after a previous contractor stopped showing up for the work. They were done in a day when the previous project was taking months."

"Needed a repair on my leaking garbage disposal unit. Not only did Kumar show up within a couple of hours, but he diagnosed and fixed the problem within like 15 minutes; turns out the disposal was incorrectly installed before we moved in. He was able to repair it right then and then, saving me lots of inconvenience, potential damage and $$$. Absolutely would contact Kumar again if I need a plumber."

"Larry from Just Drains was absolutely great to work with. He was professional, knowledgeable and incredibly decent. I joined Angie's List, in part, to sing his praises.
My main sewer line recently backed up due to tree root intrusion. It was awful. I jumped online and started calling area plumbers, and one company was particularly responsive. However, the plumber who arrived could only provide a very temporary fix because he didn't have the necessary equipment. In the end, (and to his credit) that plumber returned two more times in an effort to remedy the problem, but each time had equipment issues and wasn't able to do much.
I then found Just Drains and told them my story. I talked to Larry on a Sunday and he was at my house Monday morning. He had the tools and a lot of know-how. Larry scoped the line, cut out a good amount of roots, and used RootX to (hopefully) keep the roots at bay for up to a year.
Most impressively, he took pity on me because I already spent so much money trying to fix the problem (I even rented an electric snake from Home Depot during my frustrations with Plumber No. 1) and didn't charge me the approximate cost of his services. It was one of the most decent acts I've seen from a service company.
I'm working to figure out a more permanent fix to my main line (it's 85-year-old), but it's comforting to know I have a good person/company available to help me manage the problem."

"George and his team did an excellent job with the install. I received quotes that were much higher for the same project and similar systems. As busy as George was he always answered my questions leading up to the install and was there right when he said he would be. George even helped me plumb a water line to my refrigerator and didn't charge me for the material he used! I have already recommended Absolute Water Systems to a friend and will certainly be using them for any future projects."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Everett, MA

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
