"I came up with some initial drawings for Pete and his architect to give them an idea of what we wanted. After some back and forth with them, we were able to settle on a floor plan very close to our imagined ideas. Pete's crew headed up by Oscar was very professional. Even though the work on the house was a major undertaking, they were able to create a temporary plywood wall in one of the old bedrooms so that during most of the project we had enough bedrooms for our kids. This was huge. As far as subcontractors go, there were a few issues with flaky people, but Pete was able to deal with them/replace them as needed and we were able to get the entire inside portion of the project done by our deadline (before the baby was here). Honestly I think this was mainly due to the boom in the housing market so there is more work than contractors to go around. There was a little outside siding work to wrap up at the end, but we were alright with that since it could happen really anytime without affecting us inside. Pete was also happy to use our painter in the project. We'd used a painter previously that we were very happy with and wanted to use him again, so Pete was ok with this. He had his own guy give us an estimate (which actually was less than our guy was charging), but we ended up using our own. Pete was fine with this - which I really appreciated. We're very happy with the finished product. The new part of our house is in perfect character with the rest of our house both inside and outside. From the outside, you'd never know we have an addition except that the scale of the house is now much grander than before. From the inside, everything flows exactly as we'd hoped, the finishes all match the rest of the house and we have sooo much more space now. We now have enough space that we'll never need to move unless we want to. Also, the new covered deck area is absolutely awesome. We now have a 3-season room that we use all the time. It's fantastic. We made the deck a separate project (the main house addition work was finished in mid-winter, so we waited 'til the summer to do the deck). I got a few bids, for this work - none of the deck companies would put up walls under the overhang the way we wanted, and Pete was able to match them on price while also doing the screen walls. We got vinyl windows that I found online delivered from an east-cost provider and he was able to integrate those into this project, which was great to have it all done by a single contractor. It gives us another ~150 sq ft of living space that we can use for most of the year and I absolutely love it. Budget-wise, we stayed right on point. Pete gave us an itemized price list for all the work, including finishing allowances, to be done from the outset and we stayed within a few percentage points of this throughout the project. We even picked up some finishing materials on our own to save a bit (we got some tile from Costco when they had a sale, other tile from Home Depot that was on closeout - saved several hundred bucks that way). Finally - and this is absolutely key - Pete 100% stands behind his work. We had a few minor issues (totally expected on a project this size) and he always had them resolved quickly. Example, very recently, we had a problem with the backing starting to show through on the mirror in the new bathroom. I called him, he came out and looked at it within a few days. There was no argument needed, Pete just said 'yup, we'll take care of that'. So he ordered the replacement glass, and we now have a replacement mirror installed. This all happened within a couple weeks, with absolutely no headache on our part. This is something that is extremely hard to find. Because of the great service - we plan on hiring Pete again to do a Master Bathroom remodel in a couple years. I'd suggest you do the same!"

"Johnson and Sons have done many major construction projects on our house. The latest was building a back porch with a landing. From working with us about the design to the finished project each step was of the highest professional level. Vic and Matt are amazing and their crew were skilled, hard working professionals. Johnson and Sons will always be our choice for expert construction projects."

"Chris has done multiple repairs for me and others in our HOA. I’ve had him replace flooring, plumbing and light fixtures, repair drywall, etc. I sometimes just build a list of things, Chris comes by and gives an estimate and a time he can start the work. I leave him a key, he comes in and gets the work done while I’m at work. I come home, everything is finished, cleaned up, and I send him payment. Chris is competitive with estimates and very honest and dependable. His communication is excellent. I couldn’t recommend him more highly."

"JJ construction was my #1 choice for remodeling. I made my appointment with JJ construction. The person showed up on time and very thorough. We were very pleased by their expertise and their advice. However, I decided to sell the house as is. No work was done on my house. But I do recommend this company for future projects."

"Great experience with a skilled contractor. Would 100% hire for another home remodeling project."

"I hired Michael and his team last year to rehab a fixer-upper property in Seattle, and I couldn?t be more impressed with the results. From start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and incredibly efficient. The scope of work included a full renovation: kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, windows, paint, and exterior updates and every detail was handled with skill and care. Michael understood the investment side of the project and worked with me to keep costs effective without sacrificing quality. The transformation was amazing, and the home sold quickly with a strong return on investment. Their craftsmanship and ability to stick to both budget and timeline played a huge role in the success of the deal. If you're looking for a trustworthy contractor who delivers high quality work and understands the value of time and money, I highly recommend Michael and his team. I?ll definitely be working with them on future projects."

"Professional, courteous, reliable, honest, hard working, thoughtful and everything you want in a contractor. I have worked with many companies but I have never been this impressed. First of all, the owner is great to work with. He showed up everyday to make sure everything went according to plan. He was very meticulous and brought out a structural engineer several times to make sure that things were done safely and we wouldn’t have any problems down the road. He always had great ideas and what I appreciated was that he wasn’t always trying to upsell you and had cost in mind because re-modeling projects always have unexpected surprises. Gashin took our outdated downstairs and completely changed the look of our home into a stunning modern home. They took out all the tile flooring and installed new hardwood floors, took down several walls to make an open concept space for our kitchen and dining room, refaced the fireplace, installed a new island and countertops for the kitchen, and all the small things involved in a renovation like ours. To add, they did all this in about 6 weeks. I appreciate how our project was not in conjunction with others which helped to make the whole process super timely. Yes, there was dust but they covered everything up and made sure that the zone was clean every night. After getting to know the owner and his crew I had zero reservations about giving them full access to my home."

"They treated my home with care and completed the renovation beautifully."

"Allan is a highly skilled, hard-working, smart, reliable and honest contractor who attends to details—and has a great sense of humor. He did most of the work himself but also hired and worked well with sub-contractors. He started with our garage, creating plans for a remodel with the help of an architect and then precisely implemented those plans. He went on to demolish our old kitchen (to the studs and sub-floor) and rebuild it, according to architectural blueprints. The job required reframing three windows, building walls, putting in a new fir floor, installing cabinetry and a very heavy but beautiful hood/vent, installing appliances, tiling and painting walls, window frames and a box-beam ceiling. A complicated part of the job was building a permanent buffet with rounded corners and tempered glass inserts which he did well. He also built walls and laid flooring in our laundry room. We feel so lucky to have found and worked with Allan, and we’re hoping to be able to work with him again on future projects."

"An appropriate replacement stair was provided and carefully installed. The politeness and courtesy of the skilled installers was simply outstanding. The custom work in fitting the stairs to the existing attic opening was a marvel of workmanship. The cleanup of the area was extremely thorough. We would hire GMG again without hesitation. We highly recommend!"
