"Greenwood showed up on time for their estimate, and provided a very clear description of our choices in air conditioning and furnace units. Their pricing was about what I had expected to pay, and we were able to schedule an install for 3 weeks out from our estimate. Happily, a new installation window opened up just 2 days from our estimate and Greenwood called to ask if we would want to have our air conditioning installed earlier. The installers came on time, and maintained a very clean workspace over their two day installation. They even swept out our whole garage when they were done. Greenwood took care of scheduling an electrician to come out and scheduling our city inspector as well."

"Mark came out to give us an estimate in the spring - he was the first place I contacted, based on his Angie's List deal. He came out and gave us a frank assessment of the deal itself (basically that the cheapest air conditioner wasn't necessarily the best). He worked with us to find a unit that would fit our space available (not that much, since we live in a townhouse) while still getting as much efficiency as possible. When we were finally ready to buy, he was able to schedule the installation very quickly (within a few days(!!), although we opted for a different date for our own convenience.
When the day for installation came, Mark and his crew arrived promptly around 9am and immediately set to work. They worked all day and finished around 5pm. They were friendly and polite and worked neatly and quietly.
The only minor snag in the whole affair came later in the evening, when the A/C unit began to ice up and the house started getting warmer instead of cooler. I turned off the A/C and called Mark (at 8pm) and he answered promptly and advised me to leave the unit off until he could have a tech out in the morning. They came promptly the next morning and fixed the issue - which was due to the blower being clogged with dog hair. This is obviously not a problem with their installation, and I wouldn't even have minded being charged extra to clean out the furnace, but I would have expected them to discover the issue while testing the A/C, not having to discover it myself after they'd gone and I was looking forward to an evening of air-conditioned bliss and instead it was 81º in my house. They did come out and fix it without charge, so I was completely satisfied with the resolution.
Now, I'm enjoying the air conditioned bliss, and it's been smooth sailing once they got the inch-thick coat of dog fur out of the blower. :D

The scheduling was quick (less than 10 days) - the crew was very good in assessing and making plans and if changes had to be made, they got permission and communicated well. "Not smoothly. We selected Blue Flame because they were cheaper than Greenwood Heating & Air, and they could do the work immediately, while Greenwood had a waitlist several weeks long (should have been a clue). If I had to summarize the experience I would say communication was poor, requiring me to project manage the replacement more than I wanted to. Half the time you tried to call the office, they wouldn't pick up and you were passed onto an answering service who would ask you a list of generic questions like "Where did you hear about Blue Flame" and "Are you interested in purchasing a system?"... I've already purchased a system that I'm trying to finish having installed!!! The actual instillation took longer than they predicted, and while I appreciated the workers staying late into the night to work on the project, they didn't come prepared with all the equipment to do the work. They needed to borrow my extension cord because they didn't have one, and ended up plugging into the outlet in our backyard without asking, leaving our yard gate wide open. Fortunately our dog didn't escape before the open gate was noticed several hours later. They also helped themselves to items from our garage without asking, like our broom to sweep up their trash and debris. Lastly, and possibly most serious, the workers who were installing the system in our house were constantly pulling down their Covid masks when they thought we weren't around, and would scramble to pull them back up when they saw us. Bottom line, I probably got a good price on the unit and work, but it's not a very polished or professional company, so fingers crossed that everything was installed properly and will work for years to come."

"Daniel and his crew at SOS are everything you want in a service provider: affordable, thorough, friendly, experienced, and efficient! We got four bids for a full clean-out of our crawlspace. Three of the four estimators gave us a similar assessment (the fourth missed some big issues). Daniel did a thorough inspection, clearly explained what needed to be done, answered all of our questions, and provided us with a bid that was significantly less than his competitors (and it's no wonder - the larger providers have nice company cars, glossy folders, and fancy CD's).
We scheduled the clean-out for a few days later (the larger companies were scheduling 1 1/2 to 2 weeks out). Daniel's team arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and did an excellent job. Because there was one small area under some steps that was difficult to access, Daniel returned a few days later to complete the job. However, he wouldn't take any payment until he was sure that we were completely satisfied with the work! It was clear to us that customer satisfaction is a top priority for SOS.
If you want the job done right for a fair price, we highly recommend SOS!

"Referred to G&S through COSTCO. After some confusion by the new sales rep over just what needed to be done and what the cost would be, we got it ironed out and accepted their bid. Their inspector visited a few days in advance of the installation to determine what the installers would need to bring. The installers arrived on schedule and removed our old unit, installed a new Lennox unit, modified the indoor air handler and replaced the thermostat. Then they thoroughly tested everything and patiently explained how everything worked, including how to work the new thermostat. Cleaned up everything before leaving. Great job. COSTCO provides a gift card for 10% of the price of the unit, excluding tax."
