"Would highly recommend Green City if you need your furnace and/or your air conditioner replaced. Although there was a bit of a snafu with the initial consultation, Jeff, the owner made things right. He personally came down to assess our residence and current units and provided a competitive bid in the matter of days. Throughout the entire process there was excellent, timely communication both via email, text, and phone calls. The entire installation crew including Alex, Devin, Robert, and Murphy were professional, thorough, and efficient. If you want to support an excellent, honest, and professional, family-owned business with superior customer care you need look no further than Jeff and his team at Green City."

"Mark came out to give us an estimate in the spring - he was the first place I contacted, based on his Angie's List deal. He came out and gave us a frank assessment of the deal itself (basically that the cheapest air conditioner wasn't necessarily the best). He worked with us to find a unit that would fit our space available (not that much, since we live in a townhouse) while still getting as much efficiency as possible. When we were finally ready to buy, he was able to schedule the installation very quickly (within a few days(!!), although we opted for a different date for our own convenience.
When the day for installation came, Mark and his crew arrived promptly around 9am and immediately set to work. They worked all day and finished around 5pm. They were friendly and polite and worked neatly and quietly.
The only minor snag in the whole affair came later in the evening, when the A/C unit began to ice up and the house started getting warmer instead of cooler. I turned off the A/C and called Mark (at 8pm) and he answered promptly and advised me to leave the unit off until he could have a tech out in the morning. They came promptly the next morning and fixed the issue - which was due to the blower being clogged with dog hair. This is obviously not a problem with their installation, and I wouldn't even have minded being charged extra to clean out the furnace, but I would have expected them to discover the issue while testing the A/C, not having to discover it myself after they'd gone and I was looking forward to an evening of air-conditioned bliss and instead it was 81º in my house. They did come out and fix it without charge, so I was completely satisfied with the resolution.
Now, I'm enjoying the air conditioned bliss, and it's been smooth sailing once they got the inch-thick coat of dog fur out of the blower. :D

"Quick and efficient. Brad and Rob did a quick and clean install. We had a split AC in place and they got their electrician out quickly and he made the fix in the electrical panel. They sales rep had a bit of a problem with bringing up the financing on his computer, but, it all worked out."

"I requested service online the night before and they called me around 9 a.m. the next morning to schedule the job for that same day (between 10-1). They then called about 15 minutes later and asked if they could show up early around 9:30). Great punctuality! The tech, Elliot, did a superb job. He explained everything to me in very thorough detail and checked and rechecked the system after every adjustment he made. My AC unit wasn't plugged into my furnace correctly and was only getting about half the volume of air needed. He fixed that as part of the maintenance cost. I needed a new air filter badly, and so I bought one from him. It was marked up 2-4x the cost of an equivalent one online. He also found a capacitor that was on the boundary of being within suitable voltage. He told me it would probably last another year if I was going to have maintenance again next year, but I had him go ahead and replace it for about $175. Maintenance fee was $199. All together a little shy of $500. It felt a little high, but he spent 3 hours at my house. I appreciate him taking his time on the job and being thorough."

"I had three estimates at our house for our conversion from a gas forced-air furnace to a heat pump/gas furnace installation.  I was most impressed by Evergreen's rep. Scott, as he was very helpful in explaining the technology and was the only one of the three to do a J load calculation on our home.  I also felt after the estimates were all given that Evergreen's was the best buy in terms of the product features vs. overall cost.   As I researched our installation I realized that my mother's all-electric home would be better served by a heat pump as well.  Again, Scott did the best job of all three estimators there as well.

After the down payment of 50% of the cost the installation was set up within two weeks for both locations.  The work was done on time and efficiently.  My mother's job was done in a few hours, mine took a couple of days.  I'm happy to say that both units are performing perfectly, through both the colder weather of March and the warmer than usual days we've had in April.

There were a couple of things that should be mentioned, not major issues but worth noting.

The installation of our heat/pump and furnace did not meet City Code on the initial inspection as the condensation pump was placed on the floor.   City code required it to be 18 inches off the floor due to a potential for an explosion should there be a gas leak.  The correction was done within a few days, but I did have to schedule a city inspector on two different days.   The city inspector remarked that the installer 'should have known better'.

On my mom's split heat pump the indoor blower unit began making a loud clanking noise one month into use.  Evergreen was quick to come out, mom called on Sunday morning and was able to have a crew come out the next day.  Apparently the installers had missed a mounting clip on the external cover of the indoor unit and over time the casing sagged enough that the rotating fans began to hit the inside of the case.

Several weeks after our work was done I was called by the financial office asking me to pay the remaining 50% balance.  I pointed out that it had been paid on the day the work was done, but apparently the payment was not correctly registered as having been paid by their accounting office.  Fortunately I was able to point to my credit card statement indicating that the balance had been paid in full.

Overall Evergreen did a professional job from start to finish and I have no hesitation in recommending them.  Given their expertise and experience I have no doubt that my equipment will continue to be well serviced going forward.  "

"Update 10/07 — I had an electrical issue with a washer/dryer (due to manufacturer error), and texted Tripped for help at 1pm. They had someone drive out immediately (my home is in a VERY remote location), and Marqus arrived by 3pm. The issue was fixed by 3:45pm. This company has EXCELLENT service, and I could not recommend them enough!"

"Responsive and responsible.  We have a dialog and prioritze the work based upon safety, functionality and comfort.  Turn Key did not press for doing items we did not want done due to age of the car and cost.  On one occasion brought car into them for routine maintenance and suggested the spark plus needed changing as emissions test was due.  The plugs were not changed...and the car failed emissions.  Brought it back to Turn Key and the replaced plugs, brought the car to the testing facility, and provided a free oil change to mitigate our inconvenience.
Recently purchased a 2008 Toyota Tundra and will likely bring it there for servicing.

"Even though the job took approximately a day more than originally estimated (from 1 day to 2 days), we are definitely impressed with the installer crew (Josh and Colin). They definitely knew their stuff, they kept us informed of updated end date/time, they cleaned up the job site after the first day, and they were responsive to all our questions. But it was the comfort advisor (Zane), who convinced us to go with Blue Flame in the first place. He took measurements to verify that we had the correctly sized A/C unit installed, informed us of why Blue Flame was the right choice for us, as well as answered a few questions after the job was done."

"They worked hard and did the attic in two visits and the crawl in two more.  They were courteous, honest, and very hard working.  Their work looks good and we have noticed an improvement in due to the insulation they put in for us.  They were far cheaper than other outfits that bid on our job, but I felt as if they did a very professional job.  Overall I would happily recommend them to you for an affordable, quality job.
Two points that were less than perfect: (1) The sealant they used on the roof was not of a matching color so it is not attractive.  Daniel said our color was not available.  (2)  When they did the work in the crawl they did not warn us about the dust or seal our floor vents so a lot of dust blew up into the house before we thought to cover the vents ourselves.   Other than that, a good job that was well worth the price!

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Everett, WA

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
