"I can highly recommend Best Stone Makers for your next concrete project! They just finished replacing most of my sidewalk this week, and I had a 90-foot section of deteriorating sidewalk replaced, as well as a 50-foot uneven sidewalk and steps in front of my front porch redone. Davinson and his crew did an outstanding job, and were very methodical and professional, with great communication of what was happening at every stage of the job! "

"I’m extremely satisfied with the service provided . Gilder and his team did an incredible job with my yard. They were punctual and very professional. I was very pleased with the results and quality of work the team provided. Trimming and clearing the trees, shrubs removal and mulching. The neighbors complimented my yard. I definitely will use the company again, and highly recommend anyone looking for quality work for their landscaping. Thank you"

"Frontline Emergency did an outstanding job repairing my gravel driveway. The driveway is extremely long and needed several truckloads of stone, and Evan and his team handled everything perfectly. Their attention to detail and quality of work are incredible. We are proud to support a first responder owned business. They will also be coming back soon to mulch all of my Russian olive trees and we are happy to have them take care of that project too."

"We are extremely satisfied and happy with our new driveway, paver walkways, and entrance stairs. Carlos, Augie and their team were all gentlemen. No pressure, no double talking, we proceeded on our own pace. Mata LLC blew the other Co's we quoted out of the water with their pricing, quality and workmanship. I would most definitely recommend his services to my family and friends. Thank you Carlos for a wonderful experience. Izzy & Maria Rodriguez"

"Never came out to look at the job and went off of pictures. Quoted an insane price for refacing the crumbling steps but we reluctantly agreed. Then wanted an additional $6-7k for “unforeseen issues”. Tried to tell him no and now they want to sue us. $21+k for a job that after the fact the most expensive quote I got was under $10k for a complete replacement instead of a resurfacing like they proposed for over $20k! I’m willing to pay him for the work that they did but that’s not good enough apparently."

"They did a great job. It turned out beautifully and the turn around time was very fast. Highly recommend . I purchased a stainless steel sink from them also, which was installed at the same time. They did not remove old countertop as this was a new install."

"We purchased a Fantasy Brown hard marble countertop a little over two years ago from Absolute Marble and Granite. They did an excellent job and were very reasonable. I recently contacted Luu Phan about touching up some blemishes I caused. He was very helpful and also sent Mike to my house to help remedy it. Mike did an amazing job and was very professional, friendly and thorough. My countertops look beautiful and I am constantly getting compliments on them! I would highly recommend this company to anyone!!!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Ewing-township, NJ

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
