"Excellent work quality and customer service! VisionQuest did an absolutely outstanding job constructing and installing two walls of bookshelf cabinets with a library ladder. Conrad Snow listened to what we requested and emailed sketches of the anticipated work and a competitive cost estimate within hours. He answered every question and provided options and solutions for corner construction and electrical outlets. Conrad Snow and his team are very customer service oriented, coordinating measurements and color samples every step of the way. He discussed molding and construction details with us, making adjustments as requested. VisionQuest worked 11-hour days to finish the cabinets over the weekend to be able to install them before the Thanksgiving weekend. The cabinets fit perfectly and look very professional with a durable, silky-smooth, non-stick finish and adjustable shelves. The ladder was custom-finished to coordinate with the hardwood floor. The entire process was very professional and we absolutely love our library. VisionQuest is located in Alexandria and our library installation was in Haymarket, which is an hour drive without traffic. "We wanted a modern, European style kitchen with flat panel cabinets. Very difficult to find affordable/non-custom cabinets in this style in the DC area. Fortunately we found Mayflower! They were willing to work with us to use a new vendor we had found in California. Mayflower did all the work vetting this new cabinet vendor, evaluating the quality of the product, setting up a new vendor relationship, ordering and assembling/installing these cabinets. Mayflower did a phenomenal job of giving us the kitchen of our dreams. Their attention to detail and quality work were evident throughout the entire project. We had an excellent field team, with some of the hardest working and nicest people we've ever worked with. Franky, Anibel, and Ismael were with us throughout the entire project, always on time, always professional and courteous, and wonderful people that we would hire again. Nicole was outstanding in helping to guide us through all of the selection of our materials, and stayed with us as we had decisions to make throughout the entire process. Things were somewhat delayed, but primarily due to shipping and other factors beyond Mayflower control."

"The overall experience from planning, countertop grade selection and installation was excellent. Because of a tight dishwasher installation due to the previous installation of ceramic tiles and associated subfloor, the new countertops had to be installed at a slightly elevated height.  Some other potential bidders would not even consider doing this.  Heartwood even went further, suggesting more than one design accommodation, giving me a choice of options. They were very helpful in guiding my wife and I with the color and material selections.  They guided us through the process including measurements meeting all deadlines within their projected time frames. Measurement and installation was done in a courteous and professional manner. They coordinated with a plumber and appliance installer who they recommended. His work was of equal high quality. We stayed in contact with Heartwood prior to installation as I had some additional questions. On installation day, everything went like clockwork. Very impressed with the precision of the fit of the countertops and the invisibility of the one seam that was required in a large surface. <br />"

"Almost since we moved into our house 5 years ago, we’ve wanted to have two custom pieces of furniture built: a long, built-in shoe bench by the front door and a custom bed to optimize the space in an upstairs bedroom. Jed did both absolutely beautifully. Each piece looks like it was originally part of the house, works exactly like we wanted and more than a year later still looks just as gorgeous and has held up flawlessly. That’s despite being used and abused by a family of 4 including a 2 year old and a 5 year old. The shoe bench did the impossible of both making our entryway look much less crowded and also expanding the amount of storage space we had by at least a factor of 3. We finally have enough space for all of our shoes and had extra space for packages, reusable grocery sacks, and backpacks. The bed took a room that wasn’t really big enough to play in between the dresser, bed and desk and made it into a space that had more storage and also enough space for our 5 year old to really play in and enjoy his room. At each step of the way, Jed was meticulously detail-focused and worked with us to get everything exactly the way we wanted. That included things like using leathered granite on the benchtop so that it was as durable as stone, but wouldn’t show small scratches from keys in pockets, making the bed so it could be rotated 90 degrees, and adding adjustable feet to raise the bed as the carpet under it inevitably sagged. Jed also brought his own aesthetic sense to the projects. The molding he put along the bottom of the shoe bench took it from being a very-nice-looking shoe bench to something that I can’t imagine having been done better that perfectly matches it’s surroundings. The feet on the bed and the inset detail on the side of the bench and drawers on the bed also come from his vision. We could not be happier with the work and they’re the two most impactful improvements we’ve made to the inside of our house since we moved in. We have a few more plans for improvements we’d like to make including an unconventionally shallow closet in an upstairs bedroom that we will definitely have Jed back to do."
