"I Asked Angie's List for help in finding a provider that could replace 4 damaged kitchen tiles.  They provided me 3 names and after reviewing reports I decided to try Tub Company.  I sent email with pics of the tile and in a day or two received a call from Jeff, the owner.  I explained I had replacement tiles and original grout. He asked a few questions but felt the pics provided enough info to give a bid over the phone.  I agreed and we set up an appointment.  Eli showed up.  He was very professional and courteous.  He did state the repair would kick up a lot of dust as grout would have to be cut with grinder.  Jeff had already alerted me to that over the phone.  Importantly I did express my concern about limiting the dust as best as possible.  Eli really did do a good job of sealing off the area as best as he could with plastic.  He also covered the kitchen cabinets, opened window and placed a fan in it to draw as much as possible outside.  He also used a grinder that had some sort of vacuum to draw as much of the dust as he could. Eli replaced three of the tiles and was able to patch a small chip in one tile so it did not need replacing, thereby saving me one of the few replacement tiles I had left in case I need a future repair.  Can't tell where chip was.  Good match. He set the tile and then let it sit overnight to get a good seal.  He then came back next morning and grouted.
I can't believe how much better the flooring looks in the kitchen.  I guess we just tolerated the cracked tiles and got used to it. My wife and I are very pleased with the job Tub Company did.

"Steve Burleyson did an excellent job remodeling our master bath. Working alone, he removed our existing shower enclosure and replaced it. He also installed new shower doors. He pulled out the bathroom sink and toilet and laid new tile flooring. He was efficient, courteous, neat and professional. We also had glass block windows installed in the master and hall bathrooms by this company. The work was done quickly and neatly and we are extremely happy with the results."

They were very patient and responsive with me when I was reworking my over all design. Their workmanship is exceptional and they are great a keeping the job area clean. "He came to my house, but never actually delivered the design. He asked for 2-3 wks. I gave him about 4 wks. I tried to contact him to follow up, but I did not hear from him. I have received a refund from Angie's List. He told me they were doing (maybe paving?) when we first met, and he's trying to do landscape design? It was only $39. When I first contacted the rating was A, and it was B when I last looked. Maybe it's a case of trying to do too much, or needing to narrow the scope of work. You can know/do a little about everything, or something about a little....not both."

"Michael and his assistant arrived on time and did a great job on replacing the faucets and patching the drywall holes.
MIchael agreed to come back and finish replacing my light fixture.  I made an appointment with Michael the next week and took off from work and waited for him and he didn't show up.  I then made another appointment (at his recommendation) for the next Saturday to replace the light fixture, and he didn't show up.  I gave him one more chance to show up on a Thursday or Friday after work at his convenience, and he didn't show up again.
I wrote a not so stellar review on Angie's list due to the non-responsiveness and MIchael contacted me, and came out and finished the work.  He also replace 2 other light fixtures for a reasonable price.

I have updated the review to indicate that his work was good, and gave him a high mark for professionalism since he made it right.

"We are very happy with the work Good Neighbors did remodeling our small decades-old kitchen. As part of the remodel we had them install double pocket doors in a supporting wall between the kitchen and an adjoining bedroom. We also had them incorporate most of a hall closet into the kitchen space. With these two changes they were able to comfortably add an island and more than double our counter space.  All the work except plumbing and electrical was done by the very competent and trustworthy crew of Chris and Caleb, who answered all of our questions and gave very helpful advice and generally kept the workspace clean. The quality of work is good to excellent. Tom, one of the owners, came up with a wonderful layout for the wall tile.
    The sub-contractor doing the small amount of plumbing was very good. The electrical work included replacing the main panel, running all new electric lines, and installing both "can" lights and pendant lights. This subcontractor did excellent work and correctly diagnosed a line problem on Ameren's end that had plagued us with dimming lights for years when we ran appliances--this was fixed for free after they called. Unfortunately the electricians worked evenings and weekends with almost no advance notice; we were told by Good Neighbors that this was not their usual contractor. Regardless, everything turned out great and all inspections were passed with no problems. 
    How the project progressed: After a quick initial visit from Steve (the other owner), he brought in Joanne Conley from Henry Plumbing (also listed on Angie's list) who did the actual kitchen design and helped us select all the materials and cabinets. Her attention to detail was amazing, and she immediately noted one hidden problem (easily solved) that neither Steve nor us had noticed. We definitely give her an "A". Joanne then referred us to the appliance company. She contracted the countertop installer. After that Tom, Chris, and Caleb took over, with us making sure to "touch base" every day or two.
    The project was completed within budget and ran about two weeks over the projected six weeks. Besides a couple snow days, most of the delay was due to us deciding to change the location of the island and its overhead pendant lights well into the remodel (and after the ceiling had been painted). The fact that Good Neighbors would do this for us so late in the game without any resistance speaks very highly of their desire to please their customers."
