"I am extremely happy with AJ's service, start to finish. We initially reached out for an estimate at the beginning of 2015. A representative came to our house to explain all the different products as well as pricing and timing. I had reached out to 2 other companies before hand but was not comfortable their high pressure selling. AJ was very patient with us regarding our timing and budget. I received an estimate on the spot and was able to take my time to review and get back to them. We scheduled the work for May and was able to have 7 Windows removed and replaced in only a few hours. "I was amazed. We had 10 new windows replaced, and after working a 10 hour day, I was dreading going home & cleaning for the next 10 hours. But when I walked inside my home you didn't even know they were there. everything was placed back to where it belonged, there was no mess to vacuum. There also was no mess outside, my garden was not even touched. The only thing I had to do was wash the windows and hang the curtains. They were very nice & polite, professional men who installed the windows. The windows themselves are 100% perfect. We could not be happier and could kick ourselves for not doing it sooner. They gave us a date in July for Installation. They arrived in May."

"Dannie came to our home in August and gave us a verbal estimate on the job; he never gave us a written estimate which I believe could have prevented the misunderstanding about what the price included. He was not able to start the job in a timely fashion because he was involved in another job and the homeowner kept adding projects which kept pushing our job back. When Dannie started the job, he re-laminated our kitchen countertop and he did an EXCELLENT job! He also installed a new stainless steel kitchen sink which turned out to be the wrong one which had been shipped by the supplier (not his fault). This complicated the whole project and ended up increasing the price...again not his fault. Dannie was pleasant and stood behind his work but I felt that he needed to be more detail oriented. I had to call his attention to several things for him to resolve them.

"We had a small storage room located in the basement under the front-door steps. In the past we noticed a problem with dampness and tried to seal the interior part of the room using sealer paints. However, the problem continued to return, and we stopped using the room for storage. Recently, we detected a strange smell in the adjacent room and noticed probable mold/mildew areas along with dampness in the storage room. We contacted  MJ Home Services & Flood Restoration to get help assessing the problem. Melissa was very helpful, and scheduled a free inspection/estimate. Melissa scheduled an appointment with a 2 hour window and even scheduled the work to be started at the same time, if an agreement was made. John and Chris arrived on time. John assessed the area and identified several problems, several of them potentially serious. He was very knowledgeable and concerned about the effects of mold on occupants over time. He gave examples of how unexplained heath issues were solved by fixing mold/mildew issues in homes. The affected storage area in all cinder block with water seeping through. To correctly fix the problem, he first identified the cause of the problem located on the front stairs on the outside of the house. He provided a estimate to fix the outside problem, treat the cinder block, clean the inside wall, and then seal the inside wall. The estimate included a detailed breakdown of the work, and costing. We agreed on a cost and provided the down-payment to get started immediately. About 3/4 of the work was completed on the first day, which included digging outside, rubber patching and sealing the exposed external area. Internally, the shelves were removed, walls scratched and cleaned, holes drilled and sprayed with microban. A fan was used to air-out the room for the next day. John provided a list of precautions during this period. John and Chris returned promptly a day later to complete the work, which included completely sealing (drylock) room and allow it to dry. We are very satisfied with the quality of the work performed which included a five year warranty. We recommend MJ Home Services & Flood Restoration and plan to have them assess the rest of the house in the future.

"INSTALLATION ....A+ Installers were great... on time, neat, thorough, accommodating. answered all my questions. They left the job clean and picked up all mess and debris. They even vacuumed inside and outside. I am NOT an authority on door installation, but I watched the whole operation and these guys seemed to know exactly what they were doing and left me a beautiful finished product. I can only hope that the quality of the door is as good as it looks and as good as the installers. Great job guys. PRODUCT (SLIDING VINYL PATIO DOOR) .... A+ Door looks and works great. So far so good. It's only been a few weeks, but there is absolutely no problem to date. I hope my delight with this door continues. Weather has been very mild. I intend to update this review once I see how it stands up to next New England winter. ADMINISTRATION & CLERICAL.... D- If the whole operation was like the installers, Castle would have gotten an A rating across the board. Unfortunately the clerical personnel are not on the same page with the facts or with each other. Ask six people the same question and you are likely to get twelve different answers. They lost my deposit, then they found it, then it was never lost, then it was never paid, then there was no record of any problem then there was no record of my order. (All these responses over the phone within the same day) On various calls within the same day I was told: -that the order for my door was never placed; -that my deposit was "misfiled because someone forgot to check a box"; -that my order had not been place, but that the rep I spoke to was going to personally walk the order over to production to get it expedited; -that my order HAD ALREADY been placed and my door should be ready within a week; -that my order WAS placed but would not be ready for at least two to three more weeks and then another week till installation; -that their computer system is "terrible" (I believe that); -that my door would not be ready till after the 20th of the month; -that my door would be ready by the 12th of the month.... and on and on. On the morning of installation, I was home waiting for the installers when my wife called me to say she had received a text on her phone stating that the installation was cancelled for that day (BTW, Castle was not supposed to use my wife's phone number at all.) While I was on hold with Castle waiting for an agent, I received a phone call (on my home phone) from a rep who said their mistake on the appointment date was a mistake and that the installers would indeed be here in a few hours. The entire back office is one HUGE foulup. They can't even get their mistakes straight. A new computer system and people who are properly trained to use it would probably make a big change for the better. SALES Their original "salesman" (from whom I did NOT order) was a tremendous disappointment. The guy who showed up pretended to know a lot more than he actually knew and basically said and promised anything that he thought would get me to buy. He tried several old time sales pressure tricks to no avail. He wasn't even good at them. Among other things, he promised additional discounts but only if I signed immediately. Before he left I asked him to leave a brochure that showed the door I was interested in, He refused. He said, "These booklets cost money and you're not putting any money in my pocket." Despite all of the problems, I would definitely recommend that you consider using Castle for your next patio door project. If and when I decide to replace my windows, Castle will be high on the list of contacts for the job. If all of their installers are as good as the ones I had, I would not hesitate to have them do more jobs for me."
