"I had the pleasure of meeting Craig this week. Called him earlier in the week after finding him listed on Angie's list. We have been searching for a new plumber/heating contractor to become established wtih. Craig arrived promptly and patiently worked on a difficult clog in our bathroom sink. I also had him do a quick check on our heating system, particularly to look at the pump that takes care of excess moisture from our furnace. Craig showed me how to mix a bleach/water solution to keep the pump's line clean and answered all other questions I had. All in all a great experience and I would highly recommend him. <br />"

"They were punctual and professional.  Removed old furnace and installed a new one.  Difficult job because of space constraints so they had to return the second day to haul the old furnace out of the basement.  They did not leave the first day until they were sure the new furnace was working properly to provide domestic hot water and heat if necessary.  Being July, heat was not needed but it was nice to have hot water for a shower. <br />"

"During a conversion from a 2-family to a single-family home, the gas pipe to the dryer in the basement was overlooked and not connected to the gas lines associated with the remaining gas meter. Z&R connected the dryer to the gas line. They also removed a newer kitchen faucet from the 2nd floor kitchen sink and installed it onto the first floor kitchen sink. Additionally, the replaced the water shut-offs on the 2nd floor sink so that I could demo that sink and counter area entirely. They had the work done within a few hours. All of this was done 9 months ago, and I haven't had a single issue since then."

"The job was done very well. Installed tub & tub surround and bathroom sink. Only complaint is the refuse was removed and that included copper pipe and parts we wished to keep. I suggest before job is done ask them to leave behind what you wish to keep. We did not... <br />"

"I called them when my tenants informed me that the washing machine did not discharge water and would show a A10 error on the display. <br /> I knew that something was clogging it and, after having checked the filter, I called and Elliot agreed to come in the afternoon. He showed up on time and they proceeded to take the washing machine apart to reach the clog in the draining pipe. Eventually Elliot had to leave but he left the worker there to finish the job (sorry I don't remember his name), He had to completely disassemble the front of the washing machine in order to reach whatever clogged the drain. After removing a pair of panties ;-) and a few coins he reassembled the washing machine. He explained that in these machines , it's easy for small items to be sucked down the drain and that the tenants should use a lingerie laundry bag for them in order to avoid costly repairs. He proceeded to check that the machine was working correctly after being reassembled and that the problem was completely corrected. The whole job took about 2 hours and the cost was $180, which is a bit high but not totally unfair. I had experiences with other repairmen that were total nightmares so, all in all, this was a  very positive experience. It certainly was an expensive pair of panties! <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Fillmore, NY

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
