but the new super in our building said this repair would cost about $400! We considered it....then logged on to Angie?s List.
Rapid Repairs referred us to a plumber near to us and he arrived that afternoon. He assessed the problem, left to buy the needed part and fixed the toilet when he returned. The bill: $160.

As a single woman running my own home and being very particular.....it is extremely important to be able to discuss the job, hear all the details, and employ someone who is honest, honorable, well qualified, neat, and highly informed. I first hired Rob for the drain problem. He accomplished that efficiently and neatly at a reasonable price. We discussed options for a back up for the sump pump. Having a finished basement, I am always concerned about water. I have never lost electricity during a rain storm....but the possibility always takes up space in my brain. I have a portable generator....but I have to be home to start it. Today Rob arrived on time and installed the back up for me. It took the whole morning as he predicted. Oh....one more thing...he noticed a leak in my fairly new furnace exhaust piping. "The project included an extensive scope including the installation of a full bar/kitchen, full bathroom, , framing of several rooms, mechanical/electrical/plumbing tie-ins, lighting, wood flooring, shelving, installation of two sewage ejection pumps, and audio/visual components. Andrew demonstrates a hands-on approach to all the work and holds his subcontractors, material suppliers, and laborers accountable. They were courteous throughout the entire install as workers and material were brought in and out of our house. They were also meticulous in leaving the house free of dust and the basement debris-less at the conclusion of each day. Andrew and his design team assisted us in providing multiple design options and ideas, in many cases maintaining budget, while not compromising quality. We are highly satisfied with the end product and truly feel that Two-Rivers helped transform our basement from an unusable, cold storage space to an efficient and usable extension to our home. "We needed to have our antiquated and failing sewer main replaced, a big job. I would rate 10 stars if I could! I could not be more pleased with the service and the outcome. Bill came out quickly and provided an extremely competitive estimate. They started the following weekday. They arranged for all utility markings and permit, and handled all of the interactions with the utilities and township. They were able to maneuver the new PVC pipe around trees on our lawn so none had to be removed. The work was completed in 3 days total. It would have been completed in 2 days, but one of the utilities did not mark their lines correctly resulting in more work for them, and the township inspector arrived extremely late which delayed them in filling the trench. They worked past 8 pm on two of the days. They came back late one day to clear water that flowed into the trench after a heavy rain. Extremely professional. Super friendly service, and excellent communication throughout the project. They specialize in sewer mains and underground plumbing, and have seen it all. This is one of the best experiences I have ever had with a contractor!"

"Mark did a fantastic job of installing the new dishwasher. I'm in a 70-year-old building, with 35-year-old kitchen counters. Getting the dishwasher to fit into the space and run properly required a lot of imagination, and Mark figured it out. He's a professional and his work is excellent. While he was working on the dishwasher, he also upgraded some of the kitchen plumbing, so now we're in great shape. He's a real professional!"

We had two other professional quotes through Angies list and decided to go with John based on his proposal and our comfort level with him. We had a total kitchen remodel done three years ago by another big box company so we were prepared for the pitfalls of major remodeling. "Frank Tedeschi and his men did an amazing job. The buffet had sustained substantial damage, both to the interior (drawer and frame crushed by an unsecured heavy shelf board) and the exterior (multiple scratches and dents, and two drawer faces that required replacing). Frank went to a great deal of trouble to match the wood that needed replacing, and the repaired and refinished piece looks as if it had never been damaged in the first place. We are more than delighted with the result! Frank and his crew had previously done a great job stripping and refinishing a large mid-century book/display shelf for us."
