If you’re not using the hot tub, you should keep the temperature around 100 degrees. If you lower it too much, or shut it off completely, you’ll waste much more energy—and time—to heat up all that water to your ideal temperature. The average lifespan of a hot tub can range from five to 20 years. If you have a lower-quality hot tub and neglect routine maintenance, the hot tub will be on the lower end of that range. However, if you invest in a higher-quality material, perform maintenance, and take care of hot tub repairs quickly, you can enjoy your hot tub for closer to 20 years.
