"Prompt response to my request for service, great communication...very easy and pleasant to deal with...showed me what needed to be repaired and inspected other things to make sure that they were seemingly all ok. I personally am not a big fan of service fees that are not then absorbed or offset with work that is done, but to be fair as well, it is not uncommon either. I did appreciate the communication and quality of work done, and his knowledge of my hot tub (and just with respect to hot tubs in general) was evident."

"TUB LOOKS GREAT! Technicians were neat and clean. They had difficulty removing the old drain hardware, but stuck to it until all parts were removed and a new drain plug and overflow cap were replaced. I was charged the amount that was quoted."

"The installation went very well. They were on time, courteous, and patiently answered all of our questions. After they left, however, one of the flags had fallen out. We were assured by the installers that the flags were all secured by a screw and would not fall out. I called, and they sent someone back to reinstall the flag. The next morning, the flag had fallen out again, so I called the Service Manager; I believe his name was Dave. He was short with me and seemed annoyed that I called again about a flag. This rec set was a castle, and the 4 flags on top are what makes it look like a castle. He said he would send someone out one more time, but he wouldn't keep sending someone out just to fix a flag. I explained that he should not have to and that we just wanted it fixed so it wouldn't keep falling out. He offered to just come out and remove all 4 flags. I told him that wasn't our preferred solution, but if that was the best he could do, we expected a refund for the flags. He replied that he didn't know if he could give us a refund and would have to discuss with the general manager. He said he would get back to me the same day with the dollar amount of the refund, if any, and when they would refund our credit card. No one got back to us that day, but Heather called me a day or two later to tell me she was refunding our credit card for the flags. When I told her it was a shame because we really liked the flags, she agreed with me and told me she had the same set, and her flags never fell out. We both agreed that the installers had the experience and knowledge to fix the flag that kept falling out. She offered to send someone out again with a new flag and dowel. She said the dowel on our flag may be too narrow for the screw to reach it. Someone came out and either replaced the flag and dowel or finally fixed it when we weren't home, and it hasn't fallen out since, despite some heavy winds and storms. I called Heather and thanked her for all her help. The only negative of working with Recreations Unlimited was the Service Manager. I suggest if you encounter any problems after installation, contact Heather. She is good to work with and seems to care about the customer."

FAQs for hot tub or spa repair or service projects in Indianapolis, IN

To keep your hot tub in top shape, replace the filter annually and inspect the shell for any cracks. Test the water quality weekly, and schedule a professional service annually for $100 to $200. Consistent upkeep protects performance, ensures safe operation, and helps you avoid more expensive repairs down the line.

There is no single “correct” number, but a good rule of thumb is to use up to 30 jets per massage pump to provide balanced pressure and full-body coverage. Focus on jet quality, placement, and pump power rather than simply counting jets—the right mix delivers a soothing, efficient massage while keeping the system running smoothly.

When weighing repair versus replacement, start by comparing the total repair cost and the frequency of problems with the price of a new tub. If the spa is under 10 years old and the fix costs less than half the price of a new model, repair usually makes sense. Frequent breakdowns or repairs creeping toward new-tub pricing—especially when replacements can exceed $16,000—are strong indicators that it’s time to invest in a new unit.

With proper care and maintenance, a hot tub can last anywhere from five to 20 years. Plan for an annual professional service visit to address water-quality issues, component problems, or warning signs as soon as they appear. Staying on top of routine hot tub maintenance protects performance, safety, and long-term value.

You should consider replacing your hot tub pump if you notice unusual noises, a sudden drop in water pressure, or leaks near the pump housing. These key warning signs indicate that circulation is compromised, so call a professional hot tub repair expert promptly to keep the spa running in top condition.

A well-maintained hot tub heater lasts between seven and 10 years. You should always ensure the water’s pH is balanced and schedule yearly check-ups to maintain efficient heating. Catching minor issues early and scheduling regular hot tub professional maintenance helps the heater stay reliable and can prevent additional repair costs.
