"On Saturday, May 2, 2020 my wife and I stopped by Curry Services looking for carpet for a bedroom that we are turning into an office. We had shopped several other stores in the area with no luck. This shore had just what we needed, good prices and wonderful customer service. The best part was that they had time to install it on the same day as purchase. The installer was punctual, professional, and fast. He did an awesome job. All-in-all it was a great experience dealing with true professionals. I have a couple other rooms that need new carpet and I know just were to go."

"We highly recommend Pyramid Floors. We’ve used them for multiple projects in our 1890 farmhouse. We rely on their advice to restore 100+ year old hardwoods as well as replace rotten bathroom floors with waterproof laminate. We appreciate the communication before/during/ after projects. Fair prices - superior customer focus. Honest and reliable."

"I was discussing the terrible looking carpet with the lady who cleans my house and who is very familiar with the carpet problem that I had (and have had for a long time). She called her daughter who recommended APEX. After a week or two agonizing over the situation, I decided to call APEX. Mr. Rogers answered the phone and I spoke with him at length about my problem. He was very, very nice and explained their process in cleaning carpets with pet stains. I agreed to have them clean the carpet. I called him on Monday, July 6th, and Mr. Rogers made the appointment for Tuesday, July 7th. As I said in paragraph 14, my husband and I still cannot believe that it is the same carpet! The technician did a beautiful job, and I will not hesitate to call APEX if and when the carpet needs cleaning again."

"Excellent. The salesperson was available quickly, and was knowledgeable about tile. Once we made our decision, we were able to schedule very quickly. Workers came on time, and were professional. The company’s owner came on site to be sure we were satisfied with the work. The owner returned in a few days to remove a phone jack outlet that we overlooked. This was totally our mistake, but he took care of it. We would definitely use this company again."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Charleston, SC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
