"Michael McFall and his team were very responsive to our needs from bidding to completion. They always called, explained what was being done, and how long it would take to be completed. They stand behind their work and that meant a lot to me. I have used them once before to replace a roof on my house. I have been fully satisfied with their professionalism and service, and would hire them again."

"Kurt Johnsen was prompt, professional, he was personally on the job doing the work (didn't send someone else).  I don't know electrical work, but the window is beautiful, my electric bill is 20% of what it used to be, All the work looks good, Kurt maintained a clean workplace, I was never inconvenienced.  Kurt did the job for what he bid, there were no hidden expenses.  I especially liked that he consulted with me all throughout the job about my needs and how I wanted things (like where the solar panels would go, we eventually decided to cut down a tree after considering all the options).  I have seen other solar installations and my looks neat and attractive.  One other solar company told me they wouldn't even come and bid the job because my panels are out in the field instead of on the roof (my house is in the shade).  Mr Johnsen even advised me against solar hot water because there are only two of us living here and my usage is low.  He could have had more work at my expense.  I appreciated his honesty.  He looked out for my best interest.  All together the job took almost four months, and there were different phases of it.  Kurt Johnsen had excellent references.  I have had other work done in this home, by other contractors, carpeting and tile laid down, for example, and the workmanship was shoddy and I am very unhappy with the job.  I made the mistake of going with the cheapest I could find.  Kurt Johnsen was not the cheapest guy out there, but his pricing was fair and reasonable, and I am still thrilled with the work he did two years later. "

"I had refinanced my house for a much lower rate and was able to get enough money to refurbish my house too, without raising the monthly payments, or extend the life of the loan. My son, who teaches construction at the local college, told me to Hardie board the whole house. He warned me that vinyl siding wasn't what it was cracked up to be on a wooden house. Yet the Hardie board was so expensive, well over twice what the vinyl siding would cost, as it is a concrete fiber board that is impervious to rot. However, the roofer told me to just paint the house regularly, and the Hardie board would be unnecessary. The painter came to pressure wash the house and the horror he exposed was frightening. The exterior was so rotten he was blowing holes through the T-111 plywood panels that made up the exterior of the house. The house was built in 1980, so it is 33 years old. We bought it in 2001 because it looked so rustic. Now we were paying for not maintaining it all these years. The painter, who is an expert in his own right, brought in a carpenter. He took one look at the extent of the rot and recommended Scott Nelson as the man for this job. <br /> <br />Scott is a bright young man with a lot of skill, and a college degree. It was obvious from day one that he knew what he was doing. He also recommended the Hardie board solution. His price was within pennies of my son's original estimate, so this guy is also incredibly honest. He brought his crew in and went right to work. My wife and I were extremely impressed with their work ethic. The house was virtually reborn. He had warned me the the rot on the outside may only be hiding some rot to the wooden framework of the house as well. I was prepared for the worst, but Scott, as honest as he is, repaired some small framework deterioration, but ultimately found the framework intact. His replacement of the T-111 panels with the Hardie board made the house look different, and we feared it would loose its rustic charm. Not happening. Scott had the skill to make the house be the beautiful house it was always meant to be. We are more than pleased. You just do not get what Scott gave to us with his skill and knowledge of construction techniques in wood today, unless the man has that unique ability to see the job as completed before he drives the first nail. We would quickly and easily recommend Scott Nelson LLC to anyone who is seeking knowledgeable, skilled, intelligent, and honest work for their money. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Fort White, FL

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
