"After looking around for four years and interviewing a number of companies, we decided to go with Rob at First Choice Builders and we are very glad we did. From the beginning, he listened to us about our vision for the basement and laid out a fantastic design that included elements that both my wife and I were looking for. While he was not the cheapest bid, he was reasonable in price, very highly rated on Angie's list and we loved the basement that he completed for another customer. As a result, we decided to go with him. <br /> Rob is very good at communicating with his customers, and was patient and thorough when talking with us about his timeline and what he needed from us. So important was good communication to him that he fired two sub-contractors that he had used in the past because they were not responsive to our phone calls or his. I was very impressed in this respect. <br /> He got started framing out the basement relatively quickly and the work progressed at a good pace. He regularly showed up when subcontractors were in to both check their work and make sure we were happy. The basement was also left as clean as could be reasonable expected at the end of each day. <br /> Rob and Mike found several serious problems with the house that were only evident after the work began. Rob was very good about showing us the problems (improperly supported I beam in the basement and moldy wood under the siding because of a lack of proper flashing) and helped us decide on the appropriate fix while trying to stay within the budget. They then made the repairs, showing us along the way what they were doing. <br /> After building a custom entertainment center, Rob and Mike helped hang the TV and hook up the components. They even brought in a cleaning service to clean up the basement and the main level when everything was done. <br /> They helped us anticipate issues and solve them before they became a problem. Their design suggestions were top notch, they were trustworthy and courteous and they earned my trust (which is not always easy). Best of all though, their work was fantastic and I believe that they deserve the title "Craftsmen." <br /> If you are thinking about having work done, call them in for an interview, you will not regret it! <br />"

"I needed my basement remodeled after it was stripped bare to prep for a waterproofing project. After a thorough search on the internet, I got an estimate from Chicagoland Remodeling and ended up hiring them. Remodeling included installing drywall, sanding, laying tile, painting, hanging new doors, replacing stairs, and installing molding and some new lighting. They delivered all materials to my house so I could work during the days they were at my house, but they made sure that communication with them was easy when needed. Chicagoland Remodeling did an outstanding job remodeling my basement, using high quality materials, with attention to every detail and excellent craftmanship, and they did it on schedule, in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable cost. They kept the workplace as clean as possible and did a thorough job cleaning up at completion. The owner, Don, also was great with communicating with us. They also gave us, in writing, a step by step of the garage build. They structured the payments as they went along with the build. We felt like they were never to busy for us."

"Our sales rep Gary was very helpful. When I met with him about the garage, he mentioned they also do general concrete work. They got us prices quickly on two different options for the concrete layout for the driveway and a garage that would match the house nicely. I feel as a combo we got a great price. <br /> They got all of the permits and handled the inspections. The work was scheduled to when it best worked for us and the had the concrete work done in 3 days, and once it cured built the garage in 2 days. Everything looked great and passed all inspections for the village. Nice doors on the garage and they mounted the ight fixture that i selected to match the house. <br /> We will use them again probably doing another driveway next month. <br />"

"We had several companies come out and give us estimates for a new deck, as well as removal of the old deck. Design-a-Deck was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Out of all the people I dealt with, I felt like Brandon seemed the most detail oriented and knowledgeable. His design ideas were exactly what I envisioned, and others weren’t willing to work with me on certain aspects. When we scheduled our installation, he came as he said they would, and it was done in a very reasonable amount of time. We have a walk out basement, so putting in a deck above the patio is a lot of work, and he worked with our concrete contractor to make sure everything went as planned! Would highly recommend Brandon and Design-a-Deck!"
