"Cleaned out the main sewer even though it didn't need cleaning. What was supposed be cleaned was the catch basin. Crew came over could not open the lid, told me that it would be up to me to open it. Then they would com back. You would think that they would how all the tools and no how to open any and all catch basin. They never called me back or followed up with me. I will never ever use them again. Very disappointed."

"One word can describe Roger, his crew, and their work -AWESOME!!!   From start to finish Roger and his team where very
accommodating even when hiccups occurred.   After the deck was torn off, we discovered there was a lot of wood rot that would need to be repaired before the steps were completed.  Roger and his team completed as much of the patio and steps as they could, then once the wood was repaired six days laterby a handyman they came back to finish the job and put flashing to make sure it wouldn?t happen again.  Roger and his team are extremely conscious about the work being done as well as making sure the customer is happy.  An hour after they finished (and most of the next week) there was a lot of heavy rain and some of the locking sand did not completely dry and was washed away between the pavers on the steps.  I called Roger and asked for some sand to put into the gaps on the steps, they came out and reapplied a new layer on top of the whole patio as well as filled in all the gaps on the steps.  The sand is now dry, locked and looks great.  Everyone was very nice and very hard working, at the end of each day everything was cleaned up and hauled away.  They went above and beyond what was in the contract - installing a underground drain pipe leading about 30 feet away from downspout that was draining under the deck, Installing new sod and mulch around the patio...even providing mulch to cover existing beds to hide the dust created from cutting the pavers.   Very happy with the results, they went above and beyond for the price we paid.  Will definitely have roger and his crew out to do some other projects this fall or next spring

My husband and I hired them for our home to enlarge our existing tiny driveway, install pavers, lighting, complete make over of the front landscaping, backyard landscaping, lighting and pavers. Rafael showed us a virtual view of the landscaping by the help of some sophisticated software they use. =)   We were very excited to see it as it looked like a completely different home and so beautiful. All the work was completed on time to which we agreed.  I must say that everyone was professional and were experts in each of their tasks. "I had purchase the $1399 Deal to have paver stone patio installed in the back yard. Working with Maria, I decided to expand from 10x20 space to cover the entire width of my garage.  The additional price quoted was fair.  Because I purchased the service in October 2013, the weather was changing and the window of opportunity to install was small. Nevertheless, Maria and her crew were able to install the patio within 3 days (1 day had rain). 
The crew arrived promptly,  were courteous and were professional.  Maria remained on site supervising the work. I am please with the patio and plan to use the company for future landscaping project.

"We contacted Hansen Brothers on the recommendation of our roofers to install the electrical outlet for a roof heat cable and to discuss our front steps project. Until this point, it was difficult to get anyone to accept the front steps project. Masonry contractors would not handle cement and cement contractors would not handle masonry. We needed a general contractor to help and Hansen Brothers came highly recommended. Bob Hansen sent his son over to check on the electrical outlet needs and Bob came to assess the front steps project. He listened to my requests and introduced us to a metal worker who would fabricate the new handrails. We made a railing selection and then we discussed the timing to complete the project. In the interim, Bob's son Eric installed the roof power outlet and back door sconce satisfactorily. We started the big project of the steps replacement mid-September and it took several weeks to complete, there was much to coordinate to get this project done properly. Bob was in constant communication about the progress. We had a bit of a slow down waiting for the cement contractor to deliver the concrete, but once that happened, everything else came together. The final electrical pieces and masonry work were completed shortly after the steps were done.  Everything turned out beautifully!  Bob's experience and familiarity with Chicago homes was evident. He gave sound advice and provided some excellent suggestions with our projects. Our neighbors have also commented on how well things turned out. I would indeed contract with Hansen Brothers again for my home projects and will recommend Bob Hansen to my family and friends. I feel we have finally found a trusted general contractor who is responsive who takes pride in his work.

"We purchased our home two years ago and the previous owner
did a patio around our pool and walkways out to the alley. The previous
owner did not properly prep the patio and after a few years it was in bad shape
with the bricks moving and sinking. I called several companies for quotes
and found Iggy at National to be priced very competitively, able to fit our
timeline and experienced.
Iggy's team spent four days and did a great job with our patio. The first
day they pulled up all of the old bricks and dug out the excess dirt to make
way for a proper base. It was during this digging that the team found an
old concrete sidewalk that I was unaware of. It would have been very easy
just to go over the sidewalk and I never would have known but I received a call
from Iggy right away and he explained that it would be best to remove the old
sidewalk which I agreed.
The second day was spent backfilling and prepping the area with gravel and
using tampers to firm the base for the bricks and provide proper drainage.
This was a key step that the previous homeowner had neglected. The last
two days were spent laying out the bricks and doing all of the cuts needed to
keep the pattern over the patio.
Overall my wife and I are thrilled with our new patio and would highly
recommend Iggy and National Brick. The crew was very professional and
worked quickly but with a great eye for detail and making sure that the job was
done right.
