"This all started last winter when the roof started to leak around the fireplace.  Mr. Scandroli came out and looked at the problem and put tar all over the roof to keep it from leaking until the roof could be repaired in the spring. To my surprise he called in mid march and said they would start the roof the next Monday.  High winds kept that from happening for two days but the work started on Wednesday and was completed in 5 days.  The men came at 8am every day and worked through till it was dark.  They always made sure that everything was picked up at the end of the day.  Mr. Scandroli came by twice every day and talked to me about the progress of the roof.  The roof and gutters look great and the service was exceptional."

"They were very helpful on advising on specifications. In general, I found roofers specifying roof replacement the cheapest way possible rather than what is most cost effective long-term. Once, I got multiple contractors matching on specs, GF was clearly cost competitive, particularly given no subcontractor usage. Actual install was smooth except for two things. It took more time than they budgeted for, but they handled that well and didn't try to ask for extra payment. Second, they discovered that the backing of the house's original aluminum siding was rotten when they were installing new flashing. Understandably, they didn't want to put it back up as is (which I can appreciate). "Mr Carlson has done previous interior work for me - patching a leak damaged portion of dining room ceiling and the repainting the entire dining room/living room ceiling. So I contacted him again when we were considering repainting several interior rooms. We started with the kitchen. The work took two days as the first day he did much prep work and applied two coats of new ceiling paint. The previous owners had painted the ceiling the same color as the walls which did not look appropriate at all. Two coats of ceiling white needed to be applied to cover the old color. The second day Mr. Carlson and one of his workers completed the job by painting the walls of the kitchen. This involved a lot of close cutting in work around windows and multiple door frames, etc. Mr Carlson also had his worker do some additional repair work that was needed in addition to the painting. Since Mr. Carlson's business also does handyman work, this worked was well versed in the repair work that I needed done.

Mr. Carlson noticed that the caulking along the back splash and around the sink itself was in poor condition. He redid all of this caulking at the end of his painting. There was no additional charge except for the cost of the caulk.

This is an ongoing project and Mr. Carlson will do additional rooms and hallways in the home as I schedule the work to be done. It is my choice to spread this work over a couple of months time due to my personal schedule."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

"Interior painting. Not perfect but a good job. Concerned with final product and made trip back out to complete any unsatisfactory areas. They patched damaged walls and nail holes well. Worked with me on pricing and good communication from owner. They cleaned up well each day before leaving. Good advice on paint colors as well.

If you want very punctual with minimal breaks taken throughout time on job.... This may not be the crew for you. I would recommend they do not use tools to scrape paint off baseboards (mistakes) bc there are places where our wood baseboards were actually damaged. Otherwise, they worked together well to get the job completed and made sure I was happy with job.

"Kirt was very fast and he cleaned up after each visit.  The total job took about 10 to 12 hours which was spread over a week.  The time span allowed for having to apply multiple coats of mud to cover walls that were not flat and straight.  I was told at time of quote it would take several visits to cover all the problems with the drywall.

Kirt made every appointment on time and even worked saturday.

I have no complaints.  He has called me 3 times since finishing to make sure I am happy with his work."
