"Our house is 63 years old and had the original aluminum windows from 1956. After several bids we decided to go with Marty and Guardian Windows. The quality of the window compared to other companies seemed to be better. The installation crew (Fernando, Matt, Jim and Darrell) showed up on a Thursday, two and a half days later they had replaced our 25 windows. These guys were very professional and hard working individuals. Every rough opening provided a challenge for trimming out based on the age of the home plus the difference in the window width of the old windows versus the new. It was amazing the job they did and how "new" it makes our home look. We've had many compliments so far. I noticed one small blemish in a pane plus they actually found a "small" scatch in another but Fernando immediately contacted the window manufacturer and replacements will arrive with a few weeks. "I consulted with Rob to remove some trees and to discuss placing a root barrier at the front of my home.  I have had some cracking inside the house and had been advised to install a root barrier for some oak trees in the front yard.  Rob gave me an estimate for the oak trees but on examining the house and yard said that the trees were quite small to be causing that damage, as well as that the damage was not located where it would be expected if due to the trees.  He placed a call to consult with a local foundation expert including video of the trees and the cracked expansion joint on the side of my house.  At the same time while he was examining the property he recognized that right next to where the foundation damage is occurring, there is a part of the yard that is chronically waterlogged.  Once he pointed it out it was clear that this is the source of the foundation damage, particularly since we've had severe droughts in the last several years but this part of the lawn is usually very wet.  Rob also spoke with the adjacent neighbor on that side about drainage issues in his lawn, as some of the water is coming from the neighbor's irrigation.  The drainage system he installed cost 600$, whereas the root barrier would have been $3,000 and wouldn't have fixed the problem.  So I really feel that Rob's honesty, experience, and thorough evaluation of our problem saved us a ton of money, corrected an issue with the lawn we've had since moving in, and rescued our foundation. 
   The tree removal was great.  All of the work was done in about seven hours, and there was no clutter or mess left.  I will definitely be a repeat customer for landscaping needs in the future."

"I received three quotes - while LSSS's quote was not the lowest, I was most impressed with their samples, knowledge and impressions during their quote.  I asked if they would price match the lowest, and they not only pm'ed but beat the other quote.  They also were very accommodating in installing a few weeks out from the order, as I had window cleaners coming later and did not want the solar screens installed prior to the cleaning.  The solar screens with gridwork look great from the outside and happened to be installed the day our downstairs A/C quit - they made a huge difference in keeping heat out and keeping the downstairs livable the two weeks we didn't have A/C.  Will definitely consider them again for our skylights.
We agonized a while over 80 vs 90% screens - we wanted natural light to still filter through but our downstairs living area gets a lot of afternoon sun unshaded, and gets very hot with multiple people around.  We got a bunch of different opinions, and while most said that 90% becomes way too dark, we ended up getting 90 and are very satisfied with the amount of light that comes through as well as how much we can see out of.  If you are undecided between 80 vs 90, I would probably go 90 if heat prevention is your primary concern.
