"Fast - done in 24 hours. Repaired correctly. Unfortunately learned in retrospect that Charging $529 to saw into a wall, replace a pipe secured by a wing-nut. Will call again for an emergency. Otherwise, this does not represent a good value."

Small jobs welcome

"The fellow who did the plumbing work, Ebert Bisset, was simply outstanding. I just bought a house in Visalia and it turned out the underground gutter drainage system was completely clogged and flooding the back yard. Had no idea where the pipes went or where it was clogged. Ebert had an excellent understanding of how those systems were constructed and how to best diagnose where the problems were via a fiber optic camera snake. Was a little pricey but very much worth the expense in this case as I was able to fix the systems without having to dig up and replace everything. Great experience!"

"My house was built in 1999.  James(plumber) couldn't figure out why there was no water going to that pipe.  It had it's own 1/2" pipe but no water coming out.  We cut off the existing valve to check the valve but still had no water.  He just capped it off in case it ever did start working again.   <br /> So how do I get water?  I have to run a new line from the faucet to the fridge (I have an extra valve for this).  I was quoted $450 for this to run copper from there to my fridge.  My wife decided ice/water wasn't that important and we have some bigger expenses coming.  We drink bottled water.  We'll revisit this at a later date. <br />"

FAQs for gas piping projects in Friant, CA

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
