"<p>Benjamin Franklin's technicians performed outstanding service, installing an entire new and superior tankless hot water system, replacing our inferior and dangerously flawed tankless system that no longer performed. The lead technician was up front regarding the reasons for replacement, the cost of replacement, as well as less expensive alternatives. After we decided to replace with a new tankless system and because of the price point, the lead technician suggested time plan payment alternatives which was very helpful.</p> <p>The day of installation, the crew arrived on time as promised and suggested that the unit be placed on the outside of the house instead of underneath in the crawl space, allowing for easy access for maintenance and trouble shooting as well as for safety. An excellent suggestion since the old tankless system had been installed against a wall in the crawl space underneath our bedroom floor which the lead technician noted, would have been bad for us if the corroded pipes had started leaking gas! Anyway, the entire job was completed without a hitch and again right on time as promised.</p> <p>The new system has been working perfectly for six months now and we could not be more pleased! I would highly recommend Benjamin Franklin and their technical crews to anyone with plumbing issues - two thumbs up!</p> <br />"
Septic Repairs
Holy cow!! We found it!
Almost looks like we didn't just install 400' of 4'' Storm Drainage to save the septic system from near total failure.

Sometimes excessive storm water can wreak havoc on a septic system and cause the system to break down prematurely.
The septic system was drowning, we suggested diverting the storm water to protect the septic tank & field lines. Problem Solved.

"Excellent as noted below: I contacted Waldrop on 7/20/2020 to assess some recurring issues/problems with my central heating/AC systems which were installed in 2003 and serviced by another Heating/AC Company over the past 17 years. Josh C was dispatched to my home very quickly and completed an assessment. I gave him some background on the issues that both systems had experienced over the years (I.E. leaks, replaced compressor, replaced capacitor, replaced thermostat, numerous purchases of refrigerant, etc) and that I was contemplating replacing both systems at this point rather than continue to feed money into fixing the old systems. That said, Josh C completed his assessment by expending several hours looking at both systems and noted that the R-22 coils on both were bad and had indication of refrigerant leakage. Both sets of coils were in need of replacement which would be expensive, so I finalized my decision at that time to replace both systems. Josh C then called for a Waldrop Consultant to be dispatched to my home to discuss options for replacing my old systems. Within a short timeframe, Charlie arrived and did his assessment, consulted with Josh C and we discussed replacement options, financing & scheduling. This was followed with Charlie scheduling the replacement to take place the following day on 7/21/2020. He indicated that 2 teams consisting of (Donnie, Joey, Getty, Steve, Aron, Charlie and Josh C) would be arriving around 8am to complete the replacement project. One team handled replacing the upstairs system and the other team handled the downstairs system. The teams arrived on schedule and their technical skills, professionalism and customer friendliness were awesome. They worked with such precision and completed the replacement of both systems before 3pm! They made sure that the systems were operating perfectly (both heating & cooling) and provided me with a clear overview of using the new hi-tech thermostats. They were very meticulous in making sure that they protected my hardwood flooring by covering the entire path in and out of my home with rug runners, all of the old system components were hauled away and I am thrilled and completely satisfied with the quality and speed of their work. Thanks so much to everyone who worked on this project. Lastly, Charlie made a follow-up call to me on 7/22/2020 checking in to make sure everything was ok. I thanked him again for the superb services rendered by him and the Waldrop team and noted that I will be utilizing Waldrop services in the near future to replace & upgrade my water heater(s). Charlie offered to reach out to someone in his office to contact me regarding the replacement of my water heater(s). Looking forward to getting this new project started as soon as possible. Thanks & stay safe."

"Everything worked reasonably well but, we never really used the fireplace until November (9 months after service).  Each time we left it on for more than 1 hour, the flame would just go out. <br /> I called them today (january 26) and they explained that it requires a standard service call which will cost another $125! <br /> I've owned several gas fireplaces over the years and never had such a problem, even after years of use.  The current logs are relatively new (maybe 4-5 years and were top-of-the-line when we bought them. <br /> I don't know if I'm being unreasonable (which is why I'm giving them a C rather than D or F) but this just didn't feel fair to me.  I guess I'll get someone else to service it. <br />"

"It was Bradford White water heaters. I guess the price is fine. It took a day to install the water heater, I don’t know. They were nice guys. There were at least two guys, there may have been three of them. It seems to me that they did the water heaters one day and I think they came back a little later and put the sink into the garage. I think it was a couple of days later. I didn’t really see anything that they needed to improve on, everything seems like it is working fine."

"I called at 8:30am to ask about problems getting our gas logs to work. They guy with whom I spoke asked me to check a number of things to try to save me a service fee ($75) but as all those possible issues weren't the cause, he said someone would be out later today. Two hours later, the problem is fixed and I had to pay no additional fees. Very friendly, professional, and I would definitely recommend them. <br />"

"Sterling Craft Plumbing made my dream bathroom come true, no exaggeration! I had the absolute most positive experience with them. Shane's estimate was literally thousands of dollars less than the other I received, and he stuck to it even though the job ended up taking a bit more time than he had anticipated. The company that gave me the other estimate actually recommended Shane over themselves! He knew he wouldn't be able to beat Sterling Craft's price for the work that needed to be done, and he had worked with Shane and vouched highly for his attention to detail. Shane and Nick were able to do the majority of the work in 2 days, leaving some small portions undone to make it easier for me to do the rest of remodeling work, then came back later once enough was completed so that they could finish. At every step of the process, they did quality, professional work, were respectful and cleaned up after themselves, and went above and beyond in helping me. Not only did they do a great job, Shane was nice enough to share his knowledge with me and answered my masses of questions about every aspect of remodeling, not just plumbing. As a first-timer, this was invaluable and helped me be successful. If I ever need any plumbing work done in the future, they will be the only ones I call! They do more than plumbing as well, so I may just have them remodel my whole kitchen for me as well! I highly recommend them to anyone considering having some remodeling or plumbing that needs done."

FAQs for gas piping projects in Gaffney, SC

Plumbers with proper licensing and credentials install and relocate gas lines. When hiring a professional, verify they have experience with gas systems and all required certifications. Some homeowners choose to work with plumbers specializing in natural gas installations, as they have extensive experience with similar projects and understand the safety requirements.

The timeline for gas line relocation varies based on project complexity, permit processing, and inspection scheduling. The physical labor takes a few hours to one day, depending on the line length. However, the actual installation work represents only part of the overall project timeline. Your contractor should provide a specific timeframe based on your circumstances and local permitting requirements.

Your gas supply must be shut off during the relocation process. This safety measure prevents gas leaks while connections are being modified. Plan for this temporary service interruption by making alternative arrangements for cooking, heating, or other gas-dependent systems in your home. The shut-off generally only lasts for a portion of the work, often a few hours.

Relocating gas lines to connect new appliances is a common reason for this type of project. Whether you're installing a gas stove, fireplace, dryer, or outdoor grill, a professional can determine the best route for extending your existing gas system. The cost will depend on the distance between your current gas line and the new appliance location.

Gas line work is not suitable for DIY projects. Natural gas is highly flammable and potentially lethal if not handled correctly. Gas leaks can be difficult to detect without specialized equipment. Professional plumbers have the proper training, tools, and experience to safely relocate gas lines while ensuring compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
