"Overall, I am not satisfied with Hastings and Sons Concrete and recommend using caution before signing any contract with this company. They agreed to perform the job as I requested, however throughout the process they changed how they performed the job. Examples: They still have not provide the diagram with measurement (depth, width, length, and location) for the four pillars they installed after several requests. Without this diagram, I do not know if the pillars are to code. They said they would use expansion joints and used none. Said they would use saw cuts and changed to control joints. Said the patio would be even with door ways, but during installation they said based on code they could not do what the sales rep agreed to. I had to identify that they did not use rebar in one section of the patio, then they added rebar after it was brought to their attention. I also identified that the gravel base was not hard compacted as the mobile dump machine was sinking into the gravel and got suck several times, however Mr. Hastings continued pouring the concrete anyway. I do not believe I saw the whole contract on the computer tablet; after signing, they printed me a copy so I could read the whole contract and I would not have sign or used this contractor if I had been able to read all the terms and conditions beforehand. Their brochure states a 99.9% customer satisfaction rate, after researching this company this does not appear true. The only positive thing is that they were quick to complete the job the next day, minus providing the agreed upon diagrams."

"Do not work with this crew. Ron Miller is extremely unprofessional. He lacks communication (as with another poster on google, there was no heads up when they’d be starting work, they just showed up one day). We were in no rush to have the work completed, but the guys brought in a bobcat to dig the hole for a retaining wall (they said it was too hot to do by hand and that they had too many jobs, so they wanted to go fast). In that process they uprooted three trees (a young hibiscus, and two large arborvitae’s that had only been planted the year before). They also tore up our grass and our neighbors grass. We asked Ron to come out to review what the guys had done and he was full of excuses about being too busy and was very emotional. We only asked that they cover the cost of replacing the trees should they die. The next day one of the crew (Fuji) accosted my wife while she was home alone about the “complaints”. She was very scared by his erratic behavior. Ron was called about this, and said that the man had just come from court and so was probably just stressed. We ended up walking away, paid for all materials, and got another local crew to complete the project. They charged 25% of what Ron Miller was charging us. I’ve never worked with people like this in the past, and hope to never have to again."

Quality people do quality work and are willing to adjust to meet the needs of the homeowner. This is the 3rd time I have personally used Moore Brothers for a patio. Each experience is better than the prior. We always seem to run into something unexpected. That is part of the process with large projects like a patio. What I always appreciate is their "we are here to make the customer happy" approach. This project was no different, and they made me more than happy. They communicate, they show up when they say, and they deliver a quality product with smiles on their faces. Finally, I trust that team at my home - even when I cannot be present. That is a testament to Jesse's hiring and the quality people with whom he surrounds himself. THANKS for another great experience."
