"Nick is an excellent plumber. My late husband was a perfectionist, and he admired Nick's work and his creative problem-solving. Nick replace a frost-free water facet that would not turn off. I thought the house siding might need removing, but Nick fixed it from the inside of the house, and it works perfectly. A few years ago, the water main from the street to the house started leaking inside the house and below the shutoff valve. I discovered this on a Friday at 6:00 PM. Nick's wife walked me through how to turn the water off at the street. Saturday morning Nick and his wife, Anna, showed up, and Nick developed a workaround solution so I could have water until he replaced the pipe that runs from the street to the house. Nick put a sink in the garage with hot and cold running water when previous plumbers said it wasn't possible, and it has worked perfectly for over 10-years now. "Our CPVC house piping had a lot of water hammer. After turning on the washing machine, I walked out for a moment, and then when I came back in water was dripping from the ceiling exhaust fan onto the washing machine. We have a two story house and they ran the hot water plumbing from the water heater in the garage through the laundry room ceiling. I removed the exhaust fan and could see water dripping from a tee way back beyond reach. The water hammer from the washer likely caused the fitting to start leaking. I turned the house water supply off and sent a message to Simpson plumbing through Angie's list. A lady from Simpson plumbing contacted me right away the next morning. She was courteous, but was having a hard time understanding what the problem was. Maybe I was giving too much information or something, but when the plumbers arrived later that afternoon they didn't understand what was going on. I ran through what happened again and showed them the wet spot on the ceiling. They had to cut an opening in the ceiling and we turned the water on and confirmed the leak. We moved my washing machine out of their way and they cut out the CPVC tee and replaced it with PEX. The piping was brittle so it took him a couple of attempts to get a straight cut which is why I called them to mess with it. After installing the PEX tee, we were leak free and at my request they provided a reference for the drywall repair. He also advised getting some water hammer arrestors installed on the supply lines to the washing machine to stop the water hammer, which I have since done."

Replaced line and shut off valve to my dishwasher, increasing my water pressure. Showed me how to take toilet fill valve apart to clean out rust so I did not have to call them again."

A very experienced friendly man listened to my story carefully and addressed the issue that stopped me from doing the repair myself. He cut out the broken (old chrome pipe) that led to the cast iron drain. He tried a wrench like I did, then stopped when it was obvious that would never work. Cut out the pipe without causing further damage. He then snaked it out, and we discussed how in the future this pipe should eventually be replaced. Then he expertly put it back together with new parts. Now I can plan long term solution while resuming my daily routine."

"When my tenant told me about some problems with the heating ducts in this extremely old rental house, I was concerned that I would have to replace all the duct work at a cost of thousands of dollars.  I researched companies that dealt with heating and talked to a couple, but they were basically installers.  I was very happy to find J&M Services, which among other things specializes in duct work.  
When they came out and looked at the disconnected and/or rusted through ducts (some in the walls), I was very happy to learn that they were able to repair the ducts, and that it was not necessary to replace all the ducts.  They retaped all the duct work joints that were visible, replaced and added duct pipe where needed.  They got everything working satisfactorily, and the tenant was very happy to have heat again.  
The worker were very knowledgeable, did a great job, and cleaned up after they were done.  I would highly recommend them.

"I had a clogged drain line near the street that a rooter guy couldn't break through. I thought I was looking at having to replace the entire line. At the risk of throwing good money after bad, I called Grumpy's. I got great advice over the phone including a number to call if I decided to have the line dug up. The rate I was quoted was reasonable. Grumpy came out and cleared the line in less than half an hour. In addition, he put a scope down the line, found the exact location where roots were getting through, and marked the spot with paint at no extra charge. He wrote down the coupling and pipe I would need to make the repair. When I dug, the break was right where he indicated. Grumpy was a real pro. He saved me a bunch of time and money."

He got behind on the house before mine because of rain, but he communicated this well. He then took great care in prepping the house, which was a big issue. The job turned out to be harder than expected, but he didn't waiver from the bid he gave me. They even removed horribly dense weeds to paint one side of the garage. Dave also fixed a rotted window frame, nailed down siding, and did many other small repairs on the sides of the house. The paint job turned out fantastic. Dave takes great pride in his work. I am amazed at how nice he made the house look."
