We went with them based on the work they proposed and their positive online reviews, and we are completely satisfied with their work. They worked over three days to pour concrete footings, jack up the floors as best as possible, and then add permanent supports. They also removed an old vapor barrier and installed a new one. Each day, they arrived early and worked through the day. They communicated well and were courteous and professional. Prior to their work, our floors were not even close to level. More importantly, when walking on them, we could feel them "giving" under our weight. Now, our floors feel solid and look level throughout the house. While this type of work isn't as "fun" as other renovations, the cost of this repair is worth the peace of mind. Every time we walk across our floors, we are reminded of our investment. "Jeff told me the foundation settling was very minor for a house built in the 1970's.  No water problems in basement.  He did recommend I have the gutters replaced, with 6" gutters, and to make sure water is draining away from house.  Also, he asked me to contact him if the foundation settled more in the future.  He did not do any work other than give me a free evaluation.  Jeff was very professional and honest. I will definitely use his company if I have anymore foundation or drainage issues.

"Thaxton Construction was one of three roofing companies we contacted when we decided to replace our roof. Our first phone conversation with Chris went well - he was courteous and businesslike. He came to the house and we looked over samples of roofing material. Chris answered our questions about quality of the material, and related matters, and we made our choice. He measured, did his calculations, and promised to email an estimate within 24 hours. He kept his word. The price was perfect, as was the time frame for completion. We immediately decided to accept his estimate. Everything went according to plan, and we are happy with our new roof. I must add that the clean-up was amazing. After the work was completed, the only indication that such a big job had been done on the house was the beautiful, new roof.
